frenzy is shit.

leap is the best, or maybe pass block.

Pass block does not require a double to be rolled. So it is the next improvement. Smile

Dodge would increase his mobility just as much ( you can be braver with your dodge attempts) and once you hit your next skill, the thrower with blodge will be (or should be if he's good enough) another thing to think about for your opponent. Leap can completely break your opponents defense, but will leave the guy open to so many risks (he'll either get injured from the fall in the inevitable 1 rr 1 or he'll be so isolated that a well aimed blitz ( claw not withstanding) will mean he dies much sooner rather than later. Honestly think he should get dodge, then block then *shudder* dump off.

I would not share your point of view. Leap would increase it much more. As I wrote one Leap 2+ roll can substitute dodge + 2 GFI (ie three 2+ rolls that are more risky even when having a Dodge skill).

On the other hand anyone going to hunt a dodger will take a Tackle to shoot him down.

Leap +AG 5 increases mobility far more than dodge.

Just to let everyone know - I decided on leap. Thanks for all the advice.

Glad you made a decision, I would have gone for NOS, that way he can help you out with picking up a lose ball for the throw, or a makeshift catcher.

Good luck with your dude anyway !

Hopefully he will end up a zombie with AG2 for my Dark Lords !

My gut instinct was to recommend strong arm, but after reading this thread, I agree: Orcs simply don't do long bombs. A leaping ag5 thrower is far more useful.

Whilst I still vote for Leap as an unexpected cage breaker on an orc team, best way to keep opponent off their game is to throw something at them they aren't expecting. An orc team bashing them to a pulp, then playing ElfBall certainly fits the bill nicely.

Throughout this whole discussion, I completely forgot about the traits vs. skills thing. Now I understand why Strong Arm was suggested, when my human thrower couldn't take it on a normal skill roll anymore (I used to play OLBBL, so I'm still adjusting to the LRB ruleset).

Erh, he doesn't get better at picking up the ball, NOS only applies to Pass & Throw... Ofcourse I may be misreading your post Smile
