We need thicker skin!
So here's the thing.

I assume I am not alone here.

Losing is fine.

However; losing to a poor coach because of one-sided dice really infuriates me.

I haven't figured out a way to process this just yet.

Any suggestions?

Sorry Bill, no idea, I tend to be the poor coach with one-sided dice :-P

Duke, you F***ing A*****e.

You are a great coach. So shut up.

Drink whiskey during all matches soon you wont be able to tell who the poor players are!

Try playing over 11,000 matches!

Bill...ask uncle Chet.

Let me know if and when you find out. I still can't take a dicing from a bad coach with a smile myself either.

On the other hand, if you truly did not care you might not have stuck around as long as you have.

Hm, I cope with things by focusing on my play. Did I really do everything I could? Was there nothing, nothing at all where I could have gotten maybe 2%, 3% out of the game? It might just have made the difference.

If I then realize that I really did everything I could to the best of my abilities it usually stops bothering me. It's just these situations where you can't stop feeling guilty that are bothersome. But then again, there is usually a reason to feel guilty about losing ;)

And here was I thinking this was a suggestion for a new mutation!
Posted by Rabe on 2014-10-29 23:15:30
Maybe remembering the times where you beat poor coaches despite them having the better dice by far helps?

I had such a game recently (well, not a total dicing, but dice in his favor for sure) and it still makes me smile (but then again, I still have to prove myself that I've become at least a mediocre coach by now). :-)

As angry as I was...

Throweck cured me!

Uncle Chet says hi!

Thanks little buddy.

I cope by not playing anymore.

Works every time!

Build a team of clawpomb, that way even if you lose, you have the satisfaction of smashing in some fools. Oh wait...

Read the Jared Taylor poker book for how not to go on tilt because of variance in your luck, if you really want to get into it.

If u want to win, u musnt lose.

I just try to remember how annoying it is when someone bitches over the dice.
When you're lucky, it's not something you do to someone else.
Posted by JackassRampant on 2014-10-30 17:41:21
just laugh at it. Grumble a little if you must. Then LOL it off.

I find I get mad more so when I expect to win a game. If I just go and play the game then I normally don't get mad at losing. I am sure it doesn't make a lot of sense. Bill it's not the losing to an inferior coach that infuriates you, it's that you expect to win easily over this coach. When it goes sideways its the high expectations that you had and no longer have which is the infuriating feeling. Basically you let yourself down by rolling dice. This is normal. Think of yourself like a Half Ling coach every game. Don't expect to win; but hope to win. I clearly have no idea what I am saying.
