New sheriff in BlackBox town!
To my considerable surprise, I found myself creeping up the CR rankings recently. I know about all the various reasons not to take CR overly serious, and will subscribe to most of them. But I was also reminded of the words of Banksy as he was nominated for an Oscar: "I don't agree with the concept of award ceremonies, but I'm prepared to make an exception for the ones I'm nominated for." Likewise, I won't take CR too seriously but I'll make an exception to that when I am doing very well.
And when I all of the sudden find myself leading the Black Box board, leaving none other than the esteemed Morehouse behind in second place on the list (https://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=coaches&order=&d=10&r=0), I feel it is time to announce to the world that yes, there is a new Sheriff in town! Coach Joost is here to stop all villains!
Obviously I am well aware that this will last not long at all, if only because I'll be playing my Ogres for the BB Trophy, but also because I have generally avoided bad luck recently. We all know what Nuffle does next. Still, it's good to be up there for a second, enjoy the view from the Sheriff's office for a second and prepare for a quick exit with as much gold as possible the moment some usurper comes for the title!

@cdassak: yes, but Purplegoo looks uncatchable in that list. So I had to cherry pick the result a bit :-) Of course, I play Blackbox 99% of the time so that would be my main focus anyway. Ranked is there to beef up my vampires for tourney entries.
@Verminardo: can't complain so far in the BBT indeed, but at about 1/3 of the games in I think it's far to early to start dreaming big.

181 is far from untouchable, it depends on how you want to approach the game. If you fancied getting a bit cheesy in B, you could push to 185 _fairly_ reliably, I think? Tougher job in R.
But you’d be better off not doing that, and as PC says, enjoying being top of a thing for a bit and going about your business, because it’s not really important and doesn’t show anything. Not really. But it is fun for a bit the first time you do it.
I presume ‘stopping’ wasn’t aimed at me, but if it was, I won a couple of minors tournaments against good opposition, got a CR bump and then a newborn started taking over my evenings. When I do get to play, I am beseeched by crying children, cooking and eating concerns, and as such, am awful. So I keep to the odd league game to ‘keep my hand in’ and the NAF things I always regret entering because RL dictates I can’t play as I would in real life. Hope to play the odd game over Christmas!
