Ah, first blog in my life.

When I found this site about 3 years ago, I had few years of pause from BB, This site got me back to the game. As most "rookies", I hated fouling. I thought that excess use of DP ruined the game.

I got my first team rolling, and I bonded to the pixels. When one of my older players died or was injured, it made me feel bad.

Then something happened. Not in a blink of an eye, but during a longer period. I started to enjoy the game, instead of enjoying my precious pixels. I found out that even if your star gets killed, there will always be another one. Teams and players come and go. If you get too attached to them, you will get sad. Sooner or later.

Same thing with "luck". In my first year in here, I remember that I was frustrated many, many times. After every bad game (in terms of luck), I thought about quitting this. I got so annoyed by Nufflings (dicerapes) that it ruined the idea of fun to me.

But then again, the time did it's job. I realized that there will be good games and abad games. And a small minority of games is just average luck. Not a single annoyance ever boosted my luck, it still was the same overall. As we all have.

So now I just enjoy the game. If I get Nuffled, that's the way it goes. If I get lucky, that's the way it goes. Of course it other player is lucky and other not, it ruins the fun from both. BUT...

I have seen and learned that coaching is more important than luck. I have seen coaches with lots of failed crucial rolls, and still they are fighting for a win or tie. And I have seen coaches with outstanding luck, only to lose the game. Good coach knows that the bad rolls will come sooner or later. There will be snakies and double skulls. The important thing is how vulnerable your game plan is to them when they hit you.

So after almost 3 years, I have learned so much about this game. Both in the field and off the field. There has been many coaches who have opened my eyes. Either by being a sort or "role model", or the opposite.

And by this point, the only thing that makes me mad in this site are the whiners. People who haven't realized the things that I have just told. It's ok to whine when there's a reason.

But THE most annoying thing are the players who coach badly, take risks, and whine all over the chat when the odds kick in and they fail. The ones with very selectable memory (only remembers those 1's), and the ones who cherish their pixels too much. I just wonder is this game enjoyable to you? After all, that's what this is all about. Enjoyment.

P.S. This game reminds me about poker. Another game where I have gone a long journey to understand the game beyond the surface.
Bad players whine about how someone got lucky on river and they lost the pot, how they never get good cards etc. If you have played poker, you know these.
Good players KNOW that everyone will get the same amount of good hands and bad hands in the long run. And it's all about decisions you make. Are they good decision or bad. If you keep making good decisions, the odds will swing it to you in the long run. There will be outdraws and luckers, but in the long run luck is 0 factor.

That's why we have high CR coaches and low CR coaches in here. Not all high CR coaches are cherry pickers. They are good (in means of gameplay) coaches.
