20 turn blood bowl?
It seems to me games are slightly short sometimes and the lack of time leads to rushed decisions and more luck based results than there should be. I think if there were 2 10 turn halves it might be better. What do you think?

From forum discussions it seems one of the major problems for people to play more often is the games taking too long.
Moreover in many matches there are turns with nothing happening, common example being last few turns of 2nd half when one team is outmanned and outplayed and the winner only waits for the last turn to score.

No.

Once upon a time games lasted until anyone scored 2 TD's, and that could lead to some seriously long games. The time restraint is in everyone's best interest.

Maybe as a variant, with a slightly larger field and a few more players. (Kinda the counterpoint to the 7s variant with fewer players, and six turns per half.)

More fun would be the 20 turn home brew rules games, no half time, play is a basket ball style tip off which scatters the same as a throw in from the crowd but only after you flip the coin to see which middle square of the LOS the is the scatter point. Which ever side the ball ends on get one blitz and one move which can include a pass or handoff. Then the game plays as normal with 'first' turn going to the defence so that game can end with one big slow drive with chance of a OTTD. I have all the rules written down somewhere. I understand this would require coding, but only adds a new sequence to the start of game and cuts more than it adds to playtime, code length and processing power.

But I still prefer the classic 32 turn game.

Two 5 turn halves would feel too elfy.

I think if the field was 1-2 rows of squares shorter from the halfway point to the goal line, 1-2 rows of squares removed from the wide zones, and remove 1-2 players on the field from both teams, then it would make games faster or more exciting than increasing the number of turns. Basically, making it easier to have a deep bench to reduce bashers, and making it easier to score in the 1 turn left you might have if someone stalls, or even easier to recover the ball and score.
