Facebook alternative?
Zuckerberg is a billionaire. Christer not.

Looking at how awesome fumbbl is, and how facebook cant even create an acceptable side structure....

and looking at how Christer is Julian Assange is disguise while fbk would sell my data to kim-jong il i want a new social network. an independent social network where user contribute with ideas and which is just a better digital place....

jeez fumbbl is a bloodbowl site and better for communication than fbk....

just read a newspaper article that mentioned appleseed, diaspoara and openneuronet as alternatives.... but which to chose?

any recomendations are apreciated....

Diaspora sounds nice to me, but it's still under development. I'm afraid we'll have to wait a year or two until we can join an alternative to FB - and be sure we want to stay there!

Of those I think diaspora is best placed, it has the infrastructure in place etc. I think the future will be a set of interacting services, like email now, based on a common protocol. Social networking is too big to be a one company monopoly- I hope anyway :).
