Diaspora sounds nice to me, but it's still under development. I'm afraid we'll have to wait a year or two until we can join an alternative to FB - and be sure we want to stay there!

Of those I think diaspora is best placed, it has the infrastructure in place etc. I think the future will be a set of interacting services, like email now, based on a common protocol. Social networking is too big to be a one company monopoly- I hope anyway :).
