Quest for Recovery
We all strifle with our CR from time to time. A couple of losses causes a nosedive and a couple of wins and you are suddenly at the top.
My longest living team, the pact team New Order of Chaos is one that recently brought me on my knees, chopped my CR to 158. I enjoy using them very much so I made myself the promise to not use any other team to reaquire my legend rank.
After all it is the same team I lost it with.
To me CR has always been usefull as a measurement for my own skill. I know what teams I use, what opponents I pick how I handle my TV and what results it all produces. I don't share the obsession with what other people do to archieve their CR. The team as it is now is only a small reflection of what it was, how it used to look like and how it will look like in the future.
I do not know at this point if I will succeed and become a legend again or not. One thing is clear tho: If I can't I'll play my pacts forever. If I manage, I'll use my Slann again, a truely magnificent race that can get me to the top of the box.
I hope this gives you a small insight what CR is really good for.

Nice read. Though locking yourself into a single race until you win enough with them... That means you may have to be lame minmax with them; boo!

I had the same CR dropping results with my Halflings, and also swore the same thing. To play them until I returned my CR up to where it was . It hasn't been working. :( I don't think I made it to legend. I did drop from 168 to 152. I could care less about now. If a 15 CR drop is the price for fun, then it's cheaper than what I usually spend.

It allows you to see how well you fare with various teams and builds under various circumstances.
It doesn't tell you how well somebody else would do regardless of his team and build.
