The regular season is over for Broekwater Patriots, so it is time to draw a line, and assess what went well, and what went wrong. Lets start with the balance sheet

Which is quite OK. Good enough for a 1st round playoff bye. But not all wins were easy, some ties were narrow escape from a loss, and some tie could have been a win if not for a serious miscue by a player. Notable events:
- Flynn failed to pick up the ball after an improbable blitz scrambe and sack by Flashfurt. It was a 2+ with sure hands reroll for the win, but Flynn botched it.
- Flynn failed to deliver a blitz in the 1st encounter against Akendorf Griffins.
- Flynn failed to deliver a blitz in the 2nd encounter against Akendorf Griffins. Maybe Flynn is fine for the normal games, but gets nervous when the stakes are high?
- Gilmore dodged out of Diving Tackle zone to stop Akendorf from winning the game. Narrow escape!
- By leading 1-0 after the first half, the team totally fall apart against White Wolves. Conditioning issues resurfaced! Conditioning coach fired after the game.

At the training department and practice field it went well, at least 6 players skilled recently. On the other hand there was mostly normal rolls. So while the training staff seems to be proficient at teaching the basic tehcniques, they are not good enough to deliver on special talents.

The coaching was good, but not great. Most games went well, but there were some coaching mistakes. Not really tactical, but strategic. Too often went for full contact which can backfire. More patience and more use of Gilmore is required.

The General Manager did a great job converting the roster for the next season. Several trades are lined up pending the physichal of the player. Looks like that out of the 16 current Patriots players maximum 8 will return for next season. The rest will be replaced. It looked for a long time that Hightower will be traded, but at the end it was Mayo who moved. Bortles from Gunners will be the new QB of the team from next season (if he survives the playoff), and Flynn will be relegated to 2nd string duties. There were rumors and request by Flynn for a trade, but at the end no team offered the compensation to move him. He is still a valuable asset. Anyway it would not be a surprise to move him later, so there may be only 7 left from current staff, but that is far from guaranteed.

The best or the worst is still to come in the 2nd season, depending on losing, or winning out.
