SESSION FOUR
I'm very disappointed. I really wanted to get a game in today (my first) but was too busy to do so. Kind of a good thing though - some veterans responded and explained why I did not need a high FF in FFB rules, so I intended to edit/delete the team so I could start over... since I haven't played a game yet.

Interestingly enough - I tried to edit/delete my team and found that I have no idea how to do that. The option(s) didn't seem readily available, or "in plain view," so I'm gonna throw this question out to the 'comments folks.'

-Can you edit/delete your team; if so, how?

-If I'm forced to retire the team and rebuild, can I use the same name? I have my doubts, which is a bummer b/c I thought I was being real clever with 'dorks orks' but... alas... I will do what I must do.

Cheers :)

to delete the team (more or less) go to the team page & at the bottom you'll see a option to retire the team.
i'm not sure about the calling a new team by the same name thing & i don't think u can edit ur team after submitting it

Thanks gibby! :D

You can not make a team with the same name a second time.
You have fourty slots available for teams so there isn't a strong need to delete one if you want to keep it for the fluff.
I like to play ugly team builds for the challenge sometimes :)

I am not entirely sure why you can't make another team with the same name if you haven't even played. I know that this was forbidden at the times when Angie was still here and the only explanation we got about it was from her and she said that it could be abused.
How was discussed with sometimes wild speculations. Nobody really knew.

I`d assume that the reason why you can`t make multiple teams with the same name is to prevent people from making things confusing by naming two teams the same, possibly conning someone who thought they were up for a nice easy match against elves or whatever into facing off against a MB-packed dorf team or whatever.

And the reason you can`t do it if you haven`t played yet? Simplicity really is my only guess.

By the way, if you're ever up for a match I could give you a quick one in FFB sometime if our timezones line up. Impart onto you what little strategy I know. :)

Well AFAIK the reason for not being able to name two teams in general the same is because of the statistics... all the data on the site are interwebt. Teams can retire but not be deleted. Same as coaches.
But a few years ago there existed an option to delete teams when they hadn't played a game. That option was removed because it could be supposedly abused somehow.

There was an exploit linked to deleting new teams that was very hard for us Admins to get around. Therefore it was deemed the only way to solve this was to stop players deleting teams off the database completely. (not sure if we are allowed to go into details)

Shame that a few idiots spoil it for the rest of you, but hey-ho welcome to the internet!

Hopefully you will see this before it is too late:

Keep the team. Practise with them, even if not ideal. Get a handle on things. When Everything is merged to the FFB program, current FFB teams will be destroyed, BUT the team names will be available for you to make a Ranked team with at that point.

I give the same advice as macavity : keep your orc team if you like the name and the fluff :)

The starting build may not be optimal, but you chose orcs to start, so I guess you'll be all right with whatever you take. And when you learn the game, what you have is actually not very important if you're learning to master tackle zones and two dice blocks and all. Plus if you like your team you're going to have fun :D

Hehe you retired it :) That's ok, when both divisions will merge and the Fantasy FootBall client will become official, you'll be able to make a [R] team with the same name as your [F] teams.

Anyways, I wish you good luck and plenty of fun here !

@ Macavity & Ancre:

DOH!! :O
The advice was too late - I 'X'd them already, but that's ok - no harm done.

@ Enigma179:
I'd love to play & get your tips, tricks, and/or wisdom. Thanks for the offer! :)

@ Freak_in_a_Frock, Wreckage, Enigma179:
Thanks for the input/background. It really is too bad that a few idiots ruin things. I will never intentionally put myself into the 'idiot' category, and if it happens by accident - I will strive to NOT be an idiot! ;)
