SESSION FIVE ("lame duck" session)
Though I have an Orc team, and dream of having an Ogre team, that does not mean I am becoming one; however, I have begun to drool on my keyboard, itch & scratch, and speak in broken sentences as I read strategies and stories of other (more fortunate) players and their fun!

This session is "lame duck" because I'm sitting here at work and can't play! *insert grumpy face* I have been reading and rereading the rules, but I bet I forget it all when I have my first game... the poor sap that bravely endures to play my first game with me. I love reading the strategies and other's blogs/replays - it's been a lot of fun and good reading!

I am not overly competitive so I think -ultimately- I'm going to land on teams that I like (like Ogres, Dwarves, Goblins, etc.) regardless if their over-all statistics indicate they're a winning team or not.

I am in Mountain Time Zone (we follow MST/MDT here in Colorado) and will likely be able to play on Friday nights, and definitely on Saturday nights. I remember the board game taking like 4 hours to play a game, is that true here on FUMBBL?

If you're interested in an easy victory, and don't mind my turns taking half a century... and repeating rules to me - then I'm your guy!

Feel free to respond with your coach name and/or email address, and the times you might be free for a game. I'd love to play other times (maybe Saturday during the day) but I have to be careful of "wife aggro!" :O

a game here takes about a hour

Ogres will drive you insane, play orcs instead :)

A game here takes about an hour, but count a bit more to get used to the client and the rules for your first games.

I'll go check how does timezones works again but I believe friday or saturday night for you means late morning for me, so I might be able to offer you a match :)

An hour seems about right. Mine tend to take a little less since I play fairly quickly, maybe 45-50 minutes a game. The shortest full game I've had (no concession) was 24 minutes. The longest was about an hour and a half (just playing, not counting games where we had technical issues).

New client makes for somewhat quicker games, mostly I think due to the automove (not having to click each square of movement individually when there are no dice rolls involved).

Games take about an hour for 2 average coaches. If you play slowly then it can go to an hour and a half (in general that's how much time you should try to set aside if you want to play a game). Because you're new, assuming you play against an average speed coach like myself, game should take a little more then an hour depending on exactly how slow you are.

Your time zone is -7 UTC while mine is +8, meaning that if I feel like getting up early on a Saturday it would work out. But I'm going to be absent for a few weeks now so I suppose this particular cherry isn't going to be mine for the picking :P

Good luck with your first few games and may nuffle be with you! He won't be, but it's just a nice thing to say.

I'm central time, and this Friday is one of the few times I will get to play before Christmas (wife works late) I'll be free from about 7:30pm your time, on. You sound so much like my kind of guy, I'm tempted to force you to play me as your first opponent. Feel free to scan my teams. My undead are only 2 games old

Forgot you are in FFB only. My Skaven, then!

@ gibby33: Thanks! Seems like others agree with you.

@ RC: I know, I know - you're right but -as it stands right now- losing (a lot) doesn't bother me, so I don't mind my trolls, Ogres, and whatever else is 'stupid' standing around going "duh..." or eating my gobbos. Maybe as I get better and actually develop some skill/talent/strategy with the game I will concern myself with winning and build a team to do so, but I appreciate you not wanting me to get frustrated with the "thick headed" fellas. :)

@ Ancre: That would be great! :)

@ maysrill: Thanks for the info :)

@ Enigma179: Well I wouldn't want you to give up (what I consider) "precious sleep!" But if you happen to be up - let me know! :D What is 'nuffle'?

@ Macavity: Awesome!! You can be my first game! Want to set up a 'quasi' set time? Say, this coming Friday (tomorrow 12/17) 8PM MST/9PM Central? Not sure how late you stay up, but we could play one or two games at least? Skaven might be another team of interest to me - I like their minis for WH & BB.

So how does FUMBBL & the FUMBBL community look at:
1) Fouling? Some people joke about it - like they do it all the time, where other areas I've read make it sound like an actual 'foul!' and that players frown upon it.

2) Coaches playing each other multiple times - sometimes multiple consecutive games? I understand the whole 'cheating' thing by creating two accounts and playing yourself over and over - but what about two different (legitimate) coaches?

Nuffle is the god of blood bowl (and a pun on NFL in case you couldn't tell). He's a fickle fellow he is, which is precisely why bad luck screws people over more than anything else in blood bowl.

Hey, m8, that time is good. Sent you a PM!

Thanks for enlightening me, Enigma179! Well, BB sounds like the game for me because my dice luck sucks pretty bad. Even my RPG buddies would comment how horrible my rolls were so... if I really suck pond-water, then maybe no one will really notice! LOL.

@ Macavity: Cool! Of course, if I end up pulling wife-aggro - I'll have to bail on ya :( but I'm really hoping that is not the case! Now... I just need to figure out how to work the PM thing! ;)
