Shock death of S7 superstar Mummy "The Mountain"!
A report of great shock, brutality, and infamy. The Mountain has been killed.
Yes, you are right. The Strength 7, Block, superstar monstrosity. The player that gave The Forgotten Villains some menace and stability. Who was seemingly on his way to legend (165 spps!).

A sorry death. After being a bit reckless with him for some matches in crowds of opposition coach Gary even had to use a long kept magic sponge on him in his previous match against BigPoppaben's Montgomery Mutations. If anyone was going to get the Mountain it would be one of this guy's Claw teams as they had also made him miss another match quite recently as they looked for those 2DB claw hits. So when facing his Nurgle side I was careful to make sure that wouldn't happen. The match wasn't going well but The Mountain had the better of a Rotspawn it seemed. But when it stood firm to his pushes it then bravely/recklessly responded with a 1DB block. Without block or claw... but it pow'd... and killed him! No regen. A titanic blow.

The Mountain had taken out star Treemen, Ogres, Trolls, Minos, Rotspawn, Werewolves, Orcs, Elves, Dwarfs, Lizards and even snotlings etc.. 70 casualties total. Although less than a cas per game average, he did make some dominating performances.

On a personal note, as pixel hugging as it is, I am really gutted to lose this player so close to "legend". Especially when it was to a blockless 1db without claw. I spent quite a lot of time on reports and bio comments, especially considering playing in the Box. Plus I had played 25 matches with this team over the last few months, far more than I normally do. I had this one aim of getting this guy to legend before the rule changes. Incredibly I nominated him for MVP in all those 25 recent matches but he only got 2! :O (for a career total of 5 from 107 matches which is very low even with random award). There should be an inquest with the judges association.

A player I first used back in 2012. As well as using the magic sponge the previous match I also have had a healing scroll for years that I would have gladly used on a stat loss. Bizarrely the only other players I would have previously considered using it on (2 Ogre superstars with 1 on 164 spp, a Human freak thrower superstar, a Squig herder freak superstar) all were lost by straight death without perms too.. Maybe my legend snotling or skink will benefit from it one day if they get a minus agility or move.

Now that I can't redraft The Mountain in the new rules I guess I will keep on the superstar S4 Wight and other superstar mummy Mumm-ra, and the fast Ghoul. At least The Mountain died on the pitch rather than retired due to a missed draft! +2 Strength will be expensive. Now I will have to focus more on winning!

The Forgotten Villains will play at least one more in the current setup so that star zombie Werdna can equal the team appearance record (150).

The Mountain. Always a legend to the Forgotten Villains fans. RIP.

Any good experienced players who died recently for me - Ive just thought they would get cut anyway as soon as seasons get implemented, may as well die on the pitch for glory, rather than give up playing because they have become too expensive.

Embrace the pain.

There needs to be a virtual monument erected to The Mountain.

It's those improbable 1DB (or -2DB) blocks against high strength or blodger players where the attacker has no relevant kill'n skills that stay with us. (For me, it was the 1DB block from a no-skill rookie elf against my blodge-sidestep blitzer that rolled a POW, break armor, killed... apo to killed that still stays with me.)

But the best way we can honor those players is to give them a good death on the pitch. With seasons, as you say, they may not all get such honorable ends.

Have the team write an anthem for Him !

Brawn welcomes him to the not-legend club with open arms.

I completely understand hating missing out on legend with someone who so clearly deserves it.

Thanks fellas. Yep as much as I wouldn't want to get a player to legend with a load of MVPs it is remarkable how few The Mountain got. I suppose at least with a 1DB death I don't feel like I made a big error to regret (I could have rerolled the preceeding pushes but that would have seemed wasteful normally). The likes of Ghouls and Wights need some protection. All part of history now!
