The Learning Curve (part 2)
Well I'm now ten games in with my Queens of the Ring II and the learning curve has been at times quite steep but mosty enjoyable.

But before any of that we need the tale of the tape:

TR 139/142

Games Played: 10 (1/5/4)
TD Diff: -6 (6 - 12)
Cas Diff: -1 (11/6/3 - 9/7/5)

Some of you may notice that the TR has dropped since the last blog. This is due to the retirement of one of my blitzers and the hiring of a new one.
I didnt think one player could make such a big difference in TR.

There have been so many things that I have learnt, but so far the most obvious one is also the most simplistic.

REMEMBER THE BASICS.

Therefore I admit it - I'm still a noob and I still make basic mistakes - but I'm better than I used to be.
Looking at most of the blogs over the past month or so, I have worked on the majority of the development issues and some of them have been much improved.
I just have to remember the simple things are what count before trying anything else.

Looking at my record over the ten games, I'm satisfied with it. I wont say I'm pleased but what should I realistically expect.
5 draws are better than 5 losses - and I did win one game so thats something.

Team Development

The team development has been one of the most interesting parts of this learning curve.
The team has added a couple of RR's, an Apothecary and due to the recent retirement of Jamie Neidhart - Blitzer I have gained an assistant coach.

Of the original 11 players 7 have made it to the 10 game mark.
I have lost 4 players to injury along the way, all of them being killed.
The only one I didnt replace like for like was Martine Jenny - Catcher as at that point I wanted to improve my rushing game.

I have two players who are likely to be retired and replaced (if not killed first) in the coming matches "The Rock" - Lineman with -AV and Lou Bushwhacker - Lineman with -MA. At the momnet they are in the team to keep the numbers up, but I dont expect either of them will be starting XI players.

As for the rest of the team - I have been pleasantly surprised. Thise that have survived and have begun to add skills have started to have an impact on the way I play the game. Having 9 players with BLODGE is such a bonus in terms of blocking.

Although not leading the SPP's the stand out player for me during these games has been Brittany Hart - Blitzer whose casualty count has by far assiting me the greatest. It is clear that in the games where she has been most effective the team has played at its best. If only I could get the same from all the other Blitzers.

Discounting the new blitzer - I have only 3 players who have yet to score SPP's - disappointly one of them has played 9 games and yet to gain anything at all.
There are a couple who are close to rolls and within a couple of games I hope to have them ready to increase.

Shawn Michellas - Thrower has surprised me the most by winning of the most MVP's. This has added to his abilities but I would have prefered those SPP's to be spread across the team a little more.

Fluff

I have also fluffed up the team a little using some of the ideas from on the site.
The basic Fluff ideas came from Fluff taken directly from the OBBA league, and I have added to this with the core pictures for each team after I PM'd Arktoris after seeing his Hellbound Charioteers team.

Each player has a picture of the original wrestlers that they have taken their name from and I have added a simple table to each of the bios as below. The information then gets added with a picture of the member of the race and a link to the player.
Any other acheivements will also be recorded here probably using the fluff form OBBA.

BADLY HURT:

SERIOUS INJURY:

KILLS

Future

Quite simply the future holds lots of games hopfully for the team. I wont be writing the blog after every match now but will probably do a review after 5 or 10 games again. (unless people want me to?)
The learning curve hasnt stopped and I still have a lot of races and tactics to discover yet.
If you have PM'd me offering me a game over the last month, I will try and play you in the future, and will look for you on IRC/Gamefinder whenever I am on, and thank you for the offer.

So WHO's NEXT?

get a new catcher, they have access to agility skills (sidestep is great)
