Why are halflings so mean???
This isn't a hate post but more of a laugh at myself, a fist shake at Nuffle and sharing some crazy bad luck on the casualty side of the game (in spite of this, the games have been good fun, thank-you Zed).

The first time my Dark Elves 'White With One' met the innocuous looking, hot pot loving little tykes of 'Left My Heart In San Francisco', we were thinking that it will be a close game, we may get some cas but we really haven't the tackle or skills to stop those pesky one turners, little did I realise the little brats were from the chaos wastes and liked to go the biff, resulting in ...

Left My Heart In San Francisco Halfling 147 0/0/0 50000 1 - 2 141 2/1/4 60000 27000

I thought it was an anomaly, so four games or so later I gave the little blighters a rematch, I did come away a little better but still was left shaking my head at Nuffle's sense of humour ...

Left My Heart In San Francisco Halfling 159 0/2/0 80000 2 - 1 148 0/1/3 10000 24000

7 deaths in 2 games from halflings.

Share the love, tell me your tales of Nuffling.

Cheers,
Hosko

No one can stop the POWER of flings.
Posted by harvestmouse on 2013-10-31 12:31:42
I had a feeling this would have something to do with Zed when I read the title......
Posted by Verminardo on 2013-10-31 13:20:16
Holy cow, that Fling team has +678 Cas! :o
Posted by Garion on 2013-10-31 13:30:21

Zed. ..kam. ..trucker. ..and the guy who owns fling Mafia are all brilliant with flings i wish i had a fraction of there skill
Posted by Lorebass on 2013-10-31 14:11:18
Trick here is, they also know how to "get picked". If you make sure you get chef inducements as flings most coaches kill themselves first having no RR. That allows for stunty to position themselves better to do 2d hits with flings and 3d PILE AWNS/etc with trees.

But yes, the listed coaches are good with flings as a different playstyle is required that they have practised much more. I still demand box flings though since ranked doesn't count! Har har.

waaahhh why no mention of my flings!!!! :P

Zed is evil. He beats up would-be robbers in his spare time. Just ask him.
Posted by pythrr on 2013-10-31 17:31:00
you do know that playing the same coach/team in ranked twice within 5 games is illegal, right?
Posted by xnoelx on 2013-10-31 17:52:12
No, it isn't illegal, the 1 in 10 rule is a guideline, not a firm limit. Just don't make a habit of it.
Posted by pythrr on 2013-10-31 19:26:22
Rules, guidelines - you are playing with semantics, sir.

Does one get punished for willfully contravening this guideline? Yes.

Therefore, breaking the guideline/rule is illegal.

Posted by xnoelx on 2013-10-31 19:41:51
1. So you can categorically state that in every individual instance of two people playing within 10 games there has been a punishment?

2. Semantics aren't necessarily a bad thing.
Posted by pythrr on 2013-10-31 23:58:12
No.

Are all illegal activities punished? No. Sometimes one is simply warned not to do the thing again. This does not make it any less illegal.

Stop making a big deal out of a simple suggestion that the coach follow the rules.

Garion is a great fling coach! :D
People often underestimate the little buggers, and when things go haywire against flings they tend feel a little violated. This case is a bit extreme, though. The Titans came back after a long winter spend in the cosy homes of the Moot, only to kill 3 rats and, break anothers ankle. Fear the Flings!!
@ Garion: Now get the MCC going again!!
Posted by xnoelx on 2013-11-01 02:37:06
I had no intention of making a big deal out of it. I was merely correcting a factually inaccurate comment. While you should generally aim to avoid breaching the 1 in 10 guideline (I, for example, don't believe I ever have, in 600+ R games), you shouldn't worry too much if you have done so occasionally.
Posted by pythrr on 2013-11-01 03:32:49
no you were not.

did I tell him that he should worry? no, I just alerted him to the guideline/rule that he was in breach of.

so please tell me how my comment was "factually inaccurate"? is not breaching a guideline illegal? i mentioned nothing about punishment; you brought that up.
Posted by Lorebass on 2013-11-01 03:50:30
Oooook, so yeah. DO NOT play the same coach in ranked unless theres aprox. 10 games between you. This does not count tournaments. SO yeah, thats settled. Back to FLINGS! BAHAHAHAHA

(Box flings R 4 REEL menz!)
Posted by pythrr on 2013-11-01 06:48:19
indeed. cos it is illegal. which xnoelx seems to have a stick up his ass about.

yay flings!
Posted by Garion on 2013-11-01 08:56:16
Yeah I want the mcc to start running and I'm sure Woodstock will finish the script in time.
Posted by the_Sage on 2013-11-01 12:46:54
Flings ROCK!
Posted by xnoelx on 2013-11-01 14:33:35
OK. Site rules say 1 in 10 is a benchmark. Lorebass said 'approx' 10 games. The term illegal suggests that it is a hard limit, which it isn't. No stick, it's not an issue I have strong feelings about either way.
Posted by Balle2000 on 2013-11-01 16:51:30
The Ranked rule for not playing the same coach twice within a 10 game period was made specifically to prevent teams from being completely murdered and devoured by evil cannibal flings like Zed's. You asked for this one Hosko.
Posted by Hosko on 2013-11-03 07:13:30
It certainly seems I did ask for it, or would have if there weren't so many cas in the first game ;) Now that I'm 'reminded' of the ten game rule, guideline, benchmark etc, I'll keep it in mind.

Shame, games against Zed are entertaining but I guess he'll have to wait to farm my poor darkies again lol.

Back to flings being vicious, it wasn't the tree's that did the damage and yes Zed does play them well. Either way the games were fun, just a little crazy on the cas table :)
