More Greasy Lightnings.
Well, some more games have been played, and I'm getting close to that magic 200 TS. I'd have got there two games ago if I'd chosen to go for a 4th Gutter Runner instead of waiting for 10k more so I could get a Rat Ogre. Sadly, while playing for the extra 10k Peaches finally got niggled when she stood too close to a Saurus and the Apothecary failed, and so the opportunity was lost. My excess cash went on replacing her and adding a further Gutter Runner to the side, and now I'm saving for that Rat Ogre again.

I'm still winning most of my games, although my casualty figures are pretty scary - the three I suffered while winning my last game 3-0 all came up badly hurt, but that's all luck and no judgement. I can't keep taking three casualties a game and expect my team to progress.

The immediate dilemma is what skill to get for Dangerous Beans. The roll is a double-5, and the choices in my mind are between the safe +MA, and (as suggested on IRC) Nerves of Steel. +MA is an offensive choice, and would provide a nice boost to my ball recovery and passing game. Nerves of Steel is a defensive choice - if I manage to get the ball on the ground, NoS and Big Hand synergise beautifully to let me steal possession. The next skill from there is, assuming he makes it to 50SPP, either Block to help him not die, or Safe Throw to stop people getting the 6 to intercept.

(Just a tangent here, but it feels a bit odd thinking of receiving as offence and kicking as defence. Offence for me is about conservative play - that TD should happen, I just have to eliminate the ways in which it can go wrong. Defence is when I get aggressive, harrying the opposition at every turn to try and steal the ball.)

The long term dilemma? I need to learn how to fight. My teams win a lot, but they take far too many casualties - even my Khemri have a casualty difference of -4 from 11 games! They've played almost exclusively against bashy teams, but still, Khemri are in theory the bashiest of the bashy and so negative casualty difference makes me think there's something wrong with my play. Any tips for winning those brawls, anyone?
