Finals!
Well as August draws to a close and as autumn gets ever nearer (at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere) I find myself in the finals of 3 different tournaments.
First is the Riverdale Rumble, a humble little TR150 tournament in the FIBBA league. These finals find my Hardrock Miners vs Mossbeard's Chaos Dwarves. I should be expected to win this one - I have better TR and TV, more guard and he only has 1 bull. I have never played a match against Mossbeard before so I don't really knonw what to expect.
Next up is the finals of the Vanguard National All-Star Challenge, again a FIBBA tournament, this time at TR175. My Twilight Descending face off against Flashback13's high elves. I have more tackle and dodge than he does, one more reroll, one more player on the roster, and I have a DP - while he doesn't but...I am 1-1-5 vs Flashback13 in 7 games. I always seem to have terrible luck against him and he's a very solid coach. Here's hoping the losing trend doesn't extend into this match.
And finally...the big one. The Lustrian Challenge IV Qualifier XVI finals vs the 2nd best coach on Fumbbl! This one will be a challenge for sure as my Blightskab Plaguelords take on Rafadavila's Dark Elves. This one's going to be tough...not only is my opponent an elite Blood Bowl coach but he also has 2 ST4 elves and 2 AG5 elves, more DPs, a higher fan factor and a much higher TR/TV. I'm pretty happy with my rats and they are more or less healthy (except for SV Bilik Blackfur who failed his aging roll after the semi-finals match and picked up a niggle - boo! But he did manage to pick up his 2nd +AG!). All I can hope for are good handicaps (virus-he has 3 nigglers-and something else good), dice luck, a sharp ref on the look out for his DPs and for the CAS to go my way.
(as an aside do good coaches ever get diced - like rendered totally uncompetitive by the dice? I know it happens to us mere mortals but how about the upper echelons of Fumbbl?)
So there it is - two mildly interesting league finals and a very exciting majors qualifier final. I expect to win at least one - will be pleased with winning two and will be very surprised (and happy) to win all 3.

mossbeard is a good coach so do not expect winning with his help - however your dwarfs are damn good and you should win it...
Your Elves should be careful as your opponent has a mighty blow tackler while you do not.... A ref in a bad mood and some more dice and it will be tough...

I actually have a fairly respectable record against a couple of the top coaches around (not many, mind you). I view this as proof the dice can totally decide a game for you, since I obviously didn't outplay them :D
I've got nothing but respect for Rafa, but I've got to root for the underdog. GL!

Adambomb, I want to wish you luck in all 3 of your matches... but I can only bring myself to do it in the Rumble and the Lustrian :) I do hope we have a fun game, but I am going to try to extend my record against you to 6-1-1.

According to Spiro any coach over CR175 gets a free copy of the admin client that Shadow hands out in chat, if you can suck up to him.

Color me jealous adam. I thought this was the year my Crushers would make a qualifier final and perhaps even advance in a major until I ran into Rijssiej's powerhouse Orc International. Got him into OT and had two chances at a major upset...but both passes were fumbbles.

I beat Jesperius currently ranked 19th on the site in the Fumbbl Cup last year with some vastly underexperienced Orcs compared to his Chaos Dwarves. It was my 1st ever TOMBSTONE GAME.
He took control of the game early... then let his guard down to mine for a few spps. I hit him with a lukcy Blitz that stopped a certain touchdown. Then the dice hit him like an avalanche for the rest of the game. I showed no mercy and pressed every advantage I had thanks to the dice to secure victory.
My Orcs went on a tear after that only to lose to Dirty Little Dinos, the eventual runner-up, on some very unlucky dice in the 5th round of the Fumbbl Cup.
Congrats on the Qualifier Victory. Bring your 'A' game. Play smart. Don't be afraid to take a calculated risk. Believe in yourself. Give it everything you have. Kick his Ass.

Get Rafa to host the game, then drop the assistant coach just before you click connect to 'earn' yourself the second handicap. Odds on it will be virus. Ha! Three darkies missing the game.
If he complains, mention that the #2 coach on fumbbl should have spotted that trick. If he still complains, say PeteW made you do it.
