The Learning Curve (part 3)
The Learning Curve (part 3)
Back again after a little break.
The Queens of the Ring II have now played 15 matches and it’s time to reflect on those games and how the team has fared.

The first game was against some Dark Elves: Datanoobs
Second Game was against Caravan of Death a Norse team.
Third:
Only Pure Big Guys a Halfling team
Fourth was against some funky smelling Rotters Do you smell something
And Finally
DWARFS!!!!
Dodge Rams

So the all important learning aspect:
Well my Kick off plays suck. I am beginning to hold my own when attacking a team with the ball, but defending from a Kick Off is a problem. I don’t get it right even 50% of the time and if the opposing coach gets a KO roll that allows a free turn or extra movement etc then I find myself in difficulty.
To counter this, the first time I noticed it, I read as many of the forums as possible on Kick Off defence. Now I am going to have to watch games to work it out because I’m either picking the wrong style of defense or not able to react quick enough.
Team Development
Well after five games you could imagine that I might have a lot to rep[ort from the team. Well not really.
Brittany Hart - Blitzer continues on her quest to make it to the Amazon Hall of fame for her casualties. In the five games however she managed to rack up 2 CAS – (including a dwarf – but failed to claim any Halflings) She also notched up her first MVP which also gave her another skill roll , finally taking GUARD
Talking of MVP’s Shawn Michellas - Thrower claimed another one which also gave her a skill roll, this time she took STRONG ARM.
Miss Dynamite - Linewoman finally reached 6 SPP’s and took BLOCK.
Owena Hart - Blitzer Killed a Dark Elf and took herself to 6 SPP’s also and took Guard.
In two of the games although players scored SPP’s they did not score enough to merit Skill increases.
Two players have died:
"The Rock" – The Linewoman with -AV so no real surprise there.
Brianna Pilman- Linewoman in the last game during which she was awarded the MVP.

I now have 14 players on the team including a new catcher, and another thrower. 6 RR, 11 FF and only three players with Niggling injuries - Two of whom are Blitzer’s with no Skill increases who will be retired when I next have enough cash to do so.

The tale of the tape therefore currently stands at:
TR 139/142

Games Played: 15 (2/6/7)
TD Diff: -10 (10 - 20)
Cas Diff: -8 (13/6/6 - 15/11/7)

As it stands I am due to play my next game in my first FUMBBL Cup Outing. The team is Dark Elves, and they look quite scary seeing as they are over 100 points in TR difference to me.
Till next time…..
