My first encounter against Wood Elfs: I hate Wardancers!
I just played a game with my human team against wood elves and lost 1-2. It was clear from the beginning that my opponent was a better opponent than me but, nevertheless, I tried my best and see if I could make something.
He had a wardancer with strength 4. A nightmare for my cutie blitzers.
I also experienced a very fast team that can move from one side to another and dodges like hell! It is very difficult to get wood elves players hold in position. I should explore more on this.
I also did quite a lot of bad decisions like what to do first and so. This created some undesired turn-overs. One at the very end that could, "could", helped me getting to 2-2 (with good dice rolling).
PS: I did my first kill! If I am not wrong, it was the catcher. RIP.

You'll be happy to know Wardancers got nerfed in the new rules! Nice report though, you can only go up Kaminote! Keep on trucking.

A 1-2 loss with humans to woodies and against a better coach is not that bad at all. Keep it up and wins will come!

Don't worry, with BB2020 (the incoming ruleset) ST 4 Wardancers will be less common and more expensive.

Blood Bowl is a tough mistress, but as a friend here said to me earlier this week 'playing through adversity is a way to learn the game and get better'.
The standard is pretty high here on FUMBBL so don't worry if you lose a few more than you win at first. Try to learn a bit more from every game you play.

yeah, only way to beat wood elves is tackle, mighty blow and fouling in my experience.
Or trust they roll 1s, which does happen more than you might think :)

They're not too keen on teams with 4 tackle mighty blow blitzers... Or even just 1 or 2 loitering unmarked within range of them. Placement limits what a good coach can do with their war dancer even at ST4. U can't leap into every cage if it means taking a mighty blow to the face and a foul. thats how valuable assets get lost. So this limits the outrageous woody play to the gamebreakinig moments not every turn you have the ball
Certainly fouling the first couple of turns of the game demonstrates intent and further suggests that they need to be conservative with their star players. You won't have to foul every turn to get them to back off a little a lot of the time, just do it early.
