Rules

General Overview
CIBBL (CabalVision Inter-regional Blood Bowl League) is a seasonal fluff-heavy league, with regional play, cups and inter-regional ranked play, making use of CRP + SL teams and CRP+ rules.

Group Restrictions
Teams are to be made with the CIBBL ruleset. Teams are required to be sufficiently 'fluffed up', which is up to the judgment of the league admins. This includes unique, proper team and player names, a team logo, overall in the CIBBL and traditional Blood Bowl spirit. In case you need help with your bio ask for help, someone will be there to help you out. The league will provide a bio template, that will help coaches not good with bb code.

Join us at Discord!
Discord is a chat application, and a great place for all kinds of banter and communication. Join us on Discord!

Team Creation & Recruitment
We are always recruiting, as teams can be added in between seasons! If you are interested in playing, send a PM to the league administration (Calthor)!
After PM communication with the league administration, make sure to create a team for this league at the top right on the overview page, or alternatively, click here!

Group Time Zone
This is a European time zone league. All coaches are expected to be able to play during 1800-2300 server time (GMT+1) but provided both parties agree any time may be scheduled. Only game offers with reasonable times will be taken into account for forfeit decisions. However, we will do our best to place non-European time zone coaches together in regions, which will facilitate ease of play during the Spring season.

Disappearances and CabalVision sanctions
CabalVision kindly asks any coach that has any problem attending games for an extended period of time to let the CabalVision Representatives know. This way tourneys won't be stalled because of coach disappearances and CabalVision viewers can enjoy a steady flow of games.
If a coach disappears without contacting the Representatives, his games in the current season will be forfeited until he returns. If he does not return until the end of the season in which he disappeared, then his team will be suspended, but can still return at a later time; as the slot is kept for a coach and team for 45 days. After this period of 45 days, a different coach can take the roster slot.
If an absentee's game is the last one in a round in a group to be played, then the game might be forfeited - even before deadline.
In short, CabalVision would kindly request that coaches communicate when they have any issues with getting games played.

Schedule
The CIBBL schedule is divided in four phases, or seasons, from Winter to Spring to Summer, culminating in the Autumn. Note: These do not follow the real life seasons.

Winter
CIBBL is comparably dormant in the Winter season. As such, only friendly matches are played during this period, which is represented by a playing timespan of around 2 weeks. Coaches can play up to three friendly matches in this period. None of these earn any Prestige Points, in contrast to matches from other seasons.

Spring
In the Spring season, provisionally lasting around 40-45 days in playing time, the Regional competitions are held. Regionals are traditionally held by means of scheduled round robin, but exceptions might be made in case of exceptionally large Regional group, if this occurs. Prestige Points are earned.

Summer
In the Summer season, Cups and Tournaments are held. Teams receive one or more invitations depending on any number of factors, whether it is their current Prestige ranking, their roster, their regional location, or a myriad of other factors, combined or not.
All the Summer cups and tournaments earn Prestige Points.

Autumn
The year culminates in the autumn, which features inter-regional ranked play. All teams are divided in a number of divisions of 6-8 teams per division, based on their Prestige Points. The top division here is therefore considered to be the top teams at that point in time, and they are struggling to become the year's absolute top team. All matches and results count for Prestige Points, which is also fully important for next year.

Prestige Points
With all this talk about Prestige Points, and how they influence invitations and positions for the Summer and Autumn seasons, what exactly are Prestige Points in CIBBL?

Well, simply speaking, Prestige Points reflect the rankings of the teams beyond a single season, beyond a single tournament. Prestige Points reflect which teams are at the top of the league at a single point, and which are at the bottom. At any one time, Prestige Points of the last 4 seasons are counted, and 50% of the 4 seasons before that.

Prestige Point Calculations

Note: Prestige decays; after one year passes, only 50% of that earned prestige counts. After two years pass, that prestige is no longer relevant.

Note: The friendly matches from the Winter (Pre-Season) phase generally do not count for Prestige. Do not expect them to count for Prestige Points, unless some sort of exception is in play.

Take the following example for a calculation:
In Year 2, at the start of the Autumn (Ranked) phase, Prestige is counted. What is included is the Spring (Regional) and Summer (Cup) phases of that Year, as well as the Autumn (Ranked) phase of Year 1 and any player awards from Year 1. What is also counted is the Spring (Regional) and Summer (Cup) phases of Year 1. However, of the phases of Year 1, the Spring and Summer phases only count for 50%.

• Match tied: +1
• Match victory: +3
• Concede a game: -10
Please note that conceding a game is meant for rare circumstances, and is highly discouraged in the league. The first concession a team makes results in this fine of 10 prestige points, which represents the disgust of the fans.
A second concession of a team in the league will result in immediate removal from the league of both team and coach.

Timing Out Players
In CIBBL we do not time each other out. If you feel that a coach is excessively slow, please report it to the league commissioner.

Scheduling games, Extensions and Forfeits
Coaches should schedule their games via PM. In case of problems your group admin should be invited to resolve issues. When a game is scheduled via PM please use the scheduler on your teams page.
Cabalvision viewers should not be cheated out of their money, they pay their coins to see teams played! Any team repeatedly not showing up and having their game forfeited will be excluded from the league.

Extra Rules Used
Overdogs (teams that have the higher TV) cannot spend more than 100K on inducement money. One main reason for this is to prevent overdogs with money to spare to unbalance matches by purchasing a wizard, for example.
For teams close to each other in TV, they should also refrain from purchasing a wizard with their treasury money.
Basically, the intention is that the wizard should only be bought as underdog inducement for teams at least around 100K TV down. The Wizard should not be purchased for team equal or higher in TV.

Mega Star skill level at 126 added.
Right Stuff cancels Tackle skill on blocks.
Piling On is unavailable as skill.
Uninterfered fouls add +1 on the injury roll.
Players with the Sneaky Git skill lend assists to fouls in tackle zones.
Sent off Sneaky Git players are sent into the KO box, instead of being banned. (Temporarily disabled due to bug)
No cards can be bought from petty cash or inducement money.
Wizard is still available in CIBBL.

Roster Changes

- Secret League changes of 2017 have been implemented in CIBBL.

- Secret Weapon rolls are used. Prices of some players might be adjusted accordingly sometimes with 10K difference. As a general rule, Deathroller-type Secret Weapons have a roll of 4+, Chainsaws/Bombs/Ball&Chain have a roll of 8+, and Blunderbuss type weapons have a roll of 10+.

Differences with standard teams:
- Troll on Goblin teams lose Loner.
- Orc Blitzers on Orc teams cost 90k.
- Slann Blitzers on Slann teams cost 100k.
- Tomb Guardians on Khemri teams lose Decay.
- Ogres on Ogre teams are 0-8.
- No M access for Chaos Dwarf Blockers.
- Vampire rosters with Blood Lust have 10K discount on RR.
- Assassins on Dark Elf roster are -10K.

Differences with Secret League teams:
- Nautican alternative roster available. Coach can choose which roster version to run.
- Snakemen Mesmer has Side Step for +10K.
- Tzeentch rosters can have up to 6 Tzaangor.
- Assassins on Khainite roster are -10K.
- Numas special skeleton rule enabled. Killed Bedouin and Dervish players continue play as skeleton versions of themselves. Max 2 Dervish skeletons.
- Pink Horrors on Daemons of Tzeentch roster split into two Blue Horrors upon death. These Blue Horrors carry 100% of the Pink Horrors earned skills, stat increases, injuries and SPP with them.
- Spawn of Chaos team is aligned to all gods instead of just one. In addition, the players do not turn into rookies when progressing into spawnier versions of themselves, but keep their skills and SPP.
- Centigor have Sure Feet for +10K. (In CIBBL, they are considered to be sure of feet still due to their four feet, despite their drunkenness.)

CIBBL balance rule for Malal:

In order to put some sort of boundary to Malal's roster, the team can only have up to a maximum of TV600 value on acquired players, counting the base value of these players. Players that only have G access and players with Right Stuff are exempt when counting this value. Beasts of Malal are counted as acquired players for this purpose. This would therefore for example not include a Norse Lineman or a Ind Lineman, but it would include a Dwarf Lineman or Wood Elf Lineman. While there is a maximum of TV value on acquired players, there is no maximum on the amount of acquired players otherwise.

Waiting List

Star Players
Star Players in CIBBL do not always recover from injuries incurred in games, and as such, stat decreases sometimes become a permanent part of their stat line. When they die, they sometimes do not return ever.
However, as time passes, new Star Players will become available for inducements instead.

Please see the CIBBL Star Player page for an updated look on current Star Players available.

Regions

CabalVision has divided the regions across the world into 21 separate regions. Although in some cases there has been some disgruntlement here and there regarding the decisions made by CabalVision officials, such as the High Elves from Ulthuan and the Dark Elves from Naggaroth complaining about being banded together, there is no doubt that these are the officially recognized regional divisions in CIBBL.

According to CabalVision regulations, a region is only considered active and competitive if at least 3 officially recognized teams have been registered and accepted in the official CIBBL registration books. CabalVision does its best to encourage regional divisions with 4+ teams in it in the interest of competitive division health.

Given the odd accents of the team promoters, the small group of dedicated fans have already taken to calling themselves 'Beer Clutchers', waving their stubbies in the air during exhibition games.

Bhubaneswar Rampage
Active: Year One, Spring - Now
Biography: The Rampage was funded in 2326 in the river town of Bhubaneswar. It was part of the second-wave of Blood Bowl teams emerging from the Kingdom of Ind. Little is known of the earliest history of the team, as the Ind teams played almost exclusively against each others, using some rules variations from the standard Blood bowl (notably, using a large stick of wood to hit the ball) and little record was kept. The team has been managed and owned by the royal family of Bhubaneswar ever since its beginning. The current owner, Dantidurga the Second is adamant that it was a very successful team in the domestic leagues, and has won many titles, but could not provide any records or any material proofs. The team had to adapt to fit the rules of the CIBBL and it seemed to go well but their victory in the first regional division they entered has been tarnished by suspicion of corruption, a claim that Dantidurga denounced as “Wrong” and being motivated by the fact that “they’re jealous of how successful the team is” and envy at him being “so successful all the time”.
Noteworthy Deeds: Regional Champions (Year One & Two).

Cythral Old Oaks
Active: Year Two, Summer - Now
Biography: For generations the Dryads in Cythral had been peaceful, as a result of this tranquility local wood elves had assumed them myth. As more elf teams joined the ever popular Blood Bowl the need for more resources became clearer. So, in a show of pride and ego these teams would one up each other by using the finest trees in Cythral thinking it safe. This offended the dryads who value the forest more than any oath they could swear. When the first game was to begin in Cythral the away team was ambushed by the dryads who slayed them and took their forms. Disguising themselves as the away team they took on the local team. From the second the game started it became clear that the other team weren't wood elves. The dryads were far stronger and they refused to be moved around. What proceeded to happen was complete destruction of the Cythral team. Each Elf killed, or injured had their bodies taken after the game to be used as fertilizer for the team. However, to the average spectator it seemed as if the Dryads were just another elf team. That is until the first dryad was knocked down, then they took on their hunting aspect and ransacked the final players, the spectators, and the stadium leaving none alive. None know that the team from Cythral is actually a dryad team, or that as they march on from team to team; stadium to stadium they are actually marching against the Blood Bowl leagues and have only one clear goal in mind. To destroy every team for their transgressions.

Everlasting Vultures of Settra
Active: Year One, Autumn - Now
Biography: Zandri, known as the Fleetport of Terror, was the largest and greatest Port-City within Nehekhara when it was inhabited by the living ages ago. In the city's harbours at the mouth of the Great Mortis River, ancient barges that writhe with dark energy still float, manned by Skeleton crews who bend their backs at the oars to the resonant boom of drums and the cracks of their taskmaster's whips. The coast around the the port and Mortis delta is clustered with the sunken wrecks of numerous pirate ships — tools that have attacked Zandri in the search of untold riches.
So the Tomb Kings' domain is not limited to the endless sands — they also bring war to the seas. And not only war... in these times they also bring their old Bloodbowlteams, trained for hundereds of years, to the whole world.
Once the just played in Nehekhara nad along the waters of the miles-wide Mortis River, now you can find them across the Great Ocean to the north, transported by the Tomb Fleets of Nehekhara to distant realms.
One of the greatest and well known teams are the Vultures. They are the famous team to the Zandri Tomb Kings, and there complexe Zandri name was translated quite edgy by CIBBL officials to the one whispered by the fans now. The real meaning is much darker... but there are no words for this in the most languages of the Old World..

After the wars subsided they kept their practice and were encouraged to engage in life through new ways with the only requirement that the new path of life would keep their finesse intact should the need for their service arise once more.

Eleven sisters rallyed their new course towards the now popular blood bowl game under the name Eye & Arrow. A name to remind them of their roots. What better place to make use of the delicate skills mastered through these many years of practice?

Gobskrav Alliance
Active: Year Two, Autumn - Now
Biography: Long ago, the Skaven of Clan Fester launched a massive assault on the empire city of Übersreik. Led by a great white seer, Clan Fester sought to establish a stronghold in the heart of the empire as well as define themselves as one the great Skaven Clans. While the invasion was initially successful, the Übersreik resistance was able to hold on until a small band of highly trained warriors tracked down the location of the seer and assassinated him. With no leader guiding them, the clan quickly fell to infighting and the assault dissipated rapidly.

With the resulting failure, Clan Fester was dissolved into roving bands of disgraced rats. Unworthy of recognition from the other clans one particular pair of siblings, Firrikeet and Lirrikeet Sharpblade decided to regain their titles another way, on the fields of Bloodbowl. Together with what few ratmen would follow them, the siblings made a pact with an unholy goblin swarm. Titling themselves the "Gobskrav Alliance" and powered with the reckless power of warpstone, the Alliance proceeded to the CIBBL with intent to destroy, and score against, all who would cross their path.

Knightly Virtues
Active: Year Two, Winter - Now
Biography: Hailing from across the dukedom of Parravon, particular around the very small barony of Neuf, the Knightly Virtues aspire to greatness so that they may win a cup worthy of the Lady of the Lake. All the knightly players of the team refer to this aspiration as a quest for the grail, but the peasants of the team are somewhat more pragmatic in their outlook; to them it's definitely a blood sport and one that has become much less enjoyable when up against orcs, vampires and giant hulking things. Nonetheless they are obliged to follow their lord and lady knights into "battle". The Royal Parravon Courtiers and the Grand Montford Guild of Artisans are both proud sponsors of the team..

Modryn's Midnight Meddlers
Active: Year Two, Spring - Now
Biography: Deep in the Forest of Athel Loren lays the Asrai Kingdom of Mordryn. After a horrendous sorcerous incident that took place ages ago, the sun remains forever hidden while night eternal rules the skies. Even though the eery atmosphere seriously disturbs natural balance and harmony, it also creates the perfect alibi to meddle with the forbidden arcane arts - safely hidden from prying eyes. While most of the Asrai keep away from dark sorcery, some don't. Over the centuries, a mysterious cabal of treesingers and other magicians gathered deep in the Mordryn realm to further their mysterious research and bizarre experiments. These forbidden rituals often require th most rare components and forbidden ingredients, which necessitates long journeys to the far corners of the known (and the unknown) world. When one of the cult's members heard of a strange game called bloodbowl, his interest was immediately drawn. It would appear that this bloody - but immensely popular - game, offers the exact opportunity to roam the world without drawing too much attention. Not much later, Modryn's Midnight Meddlers were established and set out to leave Athel Loren!

Stone Prince's Men
Active: Year Two, Spring - Now
Biography: Life is tough in the borderlands and the life in the small fief of the Stone Prince is no exception. It is a bit unusual though, as it is outlandish even for the borderlands, far into the stone plains beneath the mountains. Traditionally they had a merry little business of highway robbery, but the caravans changed their routes lately.

Having no interest in meddling in the politics of his fellow princes (the stone princes are known to be a bit lazy, to be honest), prince Jared, the current stone prince, had a very open ear when a wandering tinker told tales of Bloodbowl and easy opportunities in the small leagues.
So, after a few days of training (running with rocks, running around rocks, sometimes running against rocks) the robbery party got re-branded as a bloodbowl team and the journey began.

Strigos Elită
Active: Year One, Autumn - Now
Biography: "For now, we sleep, and we dream. But one day we will rise, and we will make our dreams real again."
—Urzen the Unrelenting

"That time is now. CabalVision gives us our chance to get back at those that like to pretend to be mortals, and pretend to be better than us. We are all the First Children, and therefore are all beasts. They try to hide in their fancy clothes and fancy parlors pretending to be something that we are not. They are all betrayers. The Lahmians and the jealous and spiteful Neferata are a backstabbing lot, who turned all of our brethren against us because we were too powerful. She is chiefly responsible for the death of our Prince, Ushoran, and the collapse of Strigos and our capital of Mourkain. And although the Lahmians are the worst of the worst, All of the First Children have turned against us. The clueless Blood Dragons foolishly believe everything they are fed by Neferata. The Necrarchs are cowards. They hide in their tower and play with their magic. Using magic to quell the Blood Lust, can they even call themselves First Children? And those blasted Von Carsteins, they breed like rabbits. They think just because they have countless numbers they can control what they like. Well Brothers, this is your notice…
With the introduction of CIBBL we shall come forth and show our dominance over you posers. No longer shall we hide. No longer will we be anyone’s whipping boy. We are here. Strigos shall be reborn under the Reign of Prince Carol the First. We are the Strigos Elită.."

Tales of other Zoat tribes sending teams outside of Athel Loren to play Blood Bowl had already begun to spread. Emboldened by these tales, and hearing of a league that would slowly ease the Tramplers into playing outside of their native forests, Acund approached the tribe's chieftain Sozzebet with his plan. Nachthafen Nightlords
Active: Year One, Autumn - Now
Biography: It was on a Dark and Stormy night that Elize, Regent of Nachthafen, decided to create the Nachthafen Nightlords, and Conquer the World. To be fair, dark and stormy nights are pretty much status quo in Nachthafen, and the locals would have found it far more perturbing and disturbed if it had been a sunny day, but it wasn't. And also, the original plans to Conquer the World were quickly forgotten, when Jerek pointed out to Elize that there were only four of them, and a hell of a lot of world out there.

Nevertheless, and not one to be discouraged, Elize did create the Nachthafen Nightlords, with the stated aim of Conquering the World (of blood bowl), and proving that you can be beautiful AND talented.

After applying to a number of different leagues, including the DLE (who unfortunately had the clause that all players must have beating hearts, and that they must belong to that player), Elize was accepted for at interview by CabalVision. CabalVision had originally misunderstood, and thought it was an interview regarding the new lingerie line coming out of Sylvania (the Tightlords), and were about halfway through the interview (Elize was still describing the planned team uniforms) before they realised that she was starting a blood bow team. Elize lost her temper at once again being underestimated as a woman, and hypnotised the camera goblin (and any watching viewers), ripped the head off the interviewer, and threw it in a perfect spiral into the studio punch bowl.

The CabalVision execs were so impressed they hired the team on the spot, with a huge signing bonus, and license to sell Nachthafen Tightlord lingerie at all CIBBL merchandise kiosks..

Pittsburgh Scabbers
Active: Year Two, Autumn
Biography: Nurgle's finest, the Pittsburgh Scabbers, burst onto the Blood Bowl scene in the year of Sigmar, 2601, taking over a small leper colony in the commuter belt of Norsca to host their games, in return for assorted body parts.
Originally formed as an amateur academy for the legendary Chaos All Stars in 2429, the Scabbers made the jump to the pro leagues after a renowned local cultist, Norn Kergut, managed to convince a Beast of Nurgle - Big Ben Rottingsburger - to play for the team on a permanent basis, in exchange for his soul.
The cultist was immediately devoured by the Beast, who had no intention of keeping his side of the bargain, but after being shown around the teams facility by Head Coach and former Chaos All Stars toilet attendant Mike Dirtyka, the newly born abomination decided to dip his tentacles into the world of professional sport with the promise of riches, silverware and untold amounts of bile.
Spurred on by his new acquisition, Dirtyka set about gathering a motley crew of cast-off Bloaters and Rotters from the North Western penal legions at Sweynseye.
The Chaos All Stars reluctantly allowed Dirtyka the chance to go it alone (mostly after getting sick of the smell), and so began the career of a very unlikely but plucky bunch of upstarts in the CIBBL.
