Teams

The Fledgling Frenzy is for new teams only. The idea is that it gives a way for coaches new to the SWL to get some experience in a tournament setting, and also to get their team a few matches before entering the SWL Fringe.

LRB teams only

Teams must be brand spanking new (TR100, 0 games played)

Only one team of each race, and no more than two teams of each racial group (see below) is permitted in each tournament

Teams should be members of the SWL Fringe group so that Bob Borc can report matches in the #SWL channel

Racial Groups

Rock: Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Dwarf, Khemri, Orc, Undead

Scissor: Lizardmen, Necromantic, Norse, Nurgle, Skaven

Paper: Amazon, Dark Elf, Elf, High Elf, Human, Wood Elf

Dynamite: Goblin, Halfling, Ogre, Vampire

Arranging Matches

Although this is not really a rule, it's as good a spot as any to include it. You must use FUMBBL's private message system to organise your matches. Just hanging around in IRC and hoping thatyour opponent will show up is not good enough. You may find the following suggestions useful.

Include 2-3 suggested times in your first PM.

Send a PM as early as possible - at least a week before the due date is a good idea.

Remember that you don't need to wait until you have both played your previous round before organising a time to play.

Scoring

Scoring is done using a fairly standard points structure. You can
always avoid the -1 point penalty for a forfeit by sending me a PM.

Win: 3 points

Draw: 1 points

Loss: 0 points

Forfeit: -1 points (see below)

In the event of a tie (at the end of the tournament), the winner will be decided usingthe rules laid out in the SWL Guide

Deadlines and Forfeits

Each round is one week in length, however there are usually at least a couple of extra days in the first round to get you started. Once the tournament has been started, the due date for each round will be listed on the group page. It is up to you to keep track of them (other than the initial message saying that the tournament is started, there will be no reminders of the due dates.
Forfeits

Deadlines are exactly that. There will be no extentions for ANY reason.

If you fail to send me a PM during the week, your team will receive -1 points.

If you send me a PM, and your opponent doesn\'t send a PM, you will receive the points for a win.

If both coaches send me a PM, but were unable to find a time to play, both teams receive 0 points. The exception to this is below.

If you have been offline most of the week, and want to award the win to your opponent (but avoid the -1 penalty), you should explain this in the PM.

These rules are harsh, but fair. Also, remember that if you are in the SWL divisions, it is more important that you manage to get your SWL matches played... I'd rather see forfeits happening here than in the conferences.
