For many a fortnight, Blood Bowl Sevens has been dominated by skilled, fiercely tough teams. It is well known most of these squads hail from a select few races. Counting the Top 40 point-earning teams in the BB7s Main Group, we find evidence of this phenomenon. Leading the charge are 7 Chaos teams, 4 Orc teams, and 3 teams from Undead, Chaos Dwarf, and High Elf. It is with this kind of dominance that the SAC is proud to present a tournament prepared to foster growth among lesser played teams and the distinct possibility to change this dominance!

Rules

Basics:
The Ascension of the Low is a 32-team tournament featuring Qualifying Groups ending with a final 8-team KO tourney. 4 teams will compete in each Round Robin Qualifier with the chance to advance to the KO rounds. If we fill 8 Qualifiers, then the winners of each qualifier will advance to the next round. If there are less than 8 Qualifiers, then the KO rounds will be filled with Wild Card entrants.

For this Special Event, a MAX TR of 100 will be instituted for all teams. Participating teams can either be skilled squads or new to the pitch. This option will be the coach’s prerogative.

Rules:
1. Each coach may enter 3 teams, only ONE may be accepted.
2. All teams are subject to a TR Cap of 100 MAX.
3. Games can end in a draw in the Qualifiers, but must be decided in Overtime in the KO rounds.
4. As per usual rules, NO Handicaps are banned!

In an attempt to grow the population of the lowest races, the SAC has decided to allow these special perks for the lowest of the race for this tournament only. These teams are Goblins and Halflings, Amazons, and Nurgle.

Special Rules:
1. Goblins may hire up to 2 Stars with Secret Weapons (no Big Guys!) This means that Goblins could have up to 9 players on their squad.
2. Halflings may hire Deeproot Strongbranch and buy extra ingredients for their Master Chef. This means that Halflings can have up to 8 players on their squad. However, only 2 Trees may be on the pitch at one time.
3. Amazons and Rotters may have one ReRoll for their tourney games.
*** Note 1: None of these extras may be purchased prior to the tournament! Any use of Stars or ReRolls in normal play is still prohibited. Similarly, these extras must be removed as soon as a team leaves the tourney.
*** Note 2: If hiring Stars, teams must follow the BB7s extra players rules: extras will always remain in the endzones (even in there are Cas during a drive) until the start of a new scoring drive or half. They may only move out of courtesy or if the opposing coach asks. Courtesy is key.
*** Note 3: All other BB7s rules (half positionals, scouting, etc) will continue as normal.

Coaches can apply up to 3 teams to the tourney, only ONE may be accepted. Races that are played least in BB7s will be afforded the most entries into the qualifying groups. Here\'s twist #1:
Races that are played most in BB7s will be afforded ONLY 1 spot in the tourney. This is to really see if a lower race can topple the dominant races! And to claim the ONE spot per race, coaches will apply their teams for membership to the new The Ascension of the Low page

The allowances for all eligible races are below:
- Goblins and Halflings- 3 Spots
- Amazon, Nurgle\'s Rotters, Ogres, Khemri, Dwarf, Elf- 2 spots
- Lizardmen, Wood Elf, Norse- 1 spot (2 spots if we get in a pinch to fill spots)
- Vampires, High Elf, Necromantic, Chaos Dwarf, Humans, Skaven, Dark Elf, Chaos, Orc- 1 spot

And here's twist #2!
Random BowlBot dice rolls will decide which teams will represent each of their respective races. The SAC will compile a list for each race from the applied teams to the The Ascension of the Low Group. With BowlBot\'s help, we\'ll see which teams come out of the mix and fill in these spots. As this randomness is the norm for BB7s, it fits out format here. This format also eliminates any concerns of a "first come, first served" application system.

How to Join
1. Create a new BB7s team or use an existing, legal BB7s squad.
2. Apply up to 3 teams to The Ascension of the Low Group. You must click on the Group Members tab at the top of the page, then choose your team from the dropdown menu. The Group managers will check your team and then approve your squad.
*** Note 1: Please be sure your team is also a member of the BB7s main page so that we can award them League points afterwards.

Prizes
1. All participating teams will earn League points towards the yearlong BB7s championship. Bonuses will be awarded for each qualifying round. Please see the Group page for details.
2. A very cool trophy to display in the team's bio.
3. The use of one Star Player for ONE match, with the exceptions of Special Event/Tournament matches KO Rounds or higher.
