#13 Boru – Dead (RIP)
#15 Bekar – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#15 Bekar – Serious Concussion (-AV)
Look.. not our best game.. but the effort was there in the second half. I Guess Im just really dissapointed with the death. Bone Krasha was a bonehead this game but I dont recall her failing at any stage.

Didnt start well..an ineffectual Blitz by Talaban failing to open up the backfield.. damn Blodgers and not a skillful tackler amongst the "Echoes" (Despite having a tackling coach I might add). Had a few more things I wanted to do but as usual went for the 3 dice Block with Ra-Hel and as usual failed it. Aargh.. not looking promising. The "Orks" (damn pretentious Amazonians if you ask me) did some crowd surfing and generally got amongst the elves. The "Echoes" proceeded to setup 3 recievers, Head Stompa Badly hurting herself. Before First Karesh Var's support headed upfield, and I failed a stupid 1 dice block leaving me oh so vulnerable. The Orks of course made all their GFI's and blitzed the lone "Var" and surrounded both he and the ball. Sadly with no rerolls our star Lineman failed to gather the ball, finding himself on his arse next turn and shielding his head as vicious fouling rained down. The Orks stalled for 1 turn, but with enough elves returning in defense they didnt take too many chances and grabbed the TD on offer. Face Masha the scorer. Excellent use of the kick skill and a Blitz from the Kickoff and we knew it wasnt to be our game. Im pretty happy with the defense I called on, especially with no rerolls but alas Bone Krasha proved too strong... blitzing free for the TD, methinks some sidestep is in order soon. Somewhere in there Bekar recieved his 3rd serious head injury, and he has since retired to the coaching ranks to make helmets for his soft headed friends. Now my first instinct was to get my completion for Karesh Var and improve his chances of snaring the Silver Boomerang, but with the tricksey encouragement of coach Laviak I instead opted for my first non Skaven 1 turner. Without the skill, experience, or god given talent to think it through properly I left myself with a block from a blockless Lineman and dutifully failed it. Halftime 2-0 We Fink Wer Orks.

It was in fact a tired looking and unenthusiastic "Echoes" that ran out for the second half. However a great blitz by Anwar had the ball out of Ork hands early in the half.... and hopes were raised. It was at this point that for me the great decision came about when our skilless season debutant Judon was killed by Sneaky Ork. After much Umming and Ahh'ing the Apothecary was sent onto the field.. and promptly did his job..."Gasp". Now the "Echoes" ultimately scored here through Togen.. thanks to the usual touch of class from Karesh Var, and a few handy blocks by his fellow elves. But we were to regret that decision to Apothecary Judon. Some really excellent play in the next drive (I think) including a lucky block saw us knock the ball away from the Orks again, and while Karesh Var regathered the ball, I am now of the opinion he should have tried for more. Perhaps throwing the ball back in defense (risking intercept) and doing all without rerolls... because his standing with ball in hand was sadly short lived. It was at this point that Laviak's luck really shone through making telling 1 dice blocks.. time and time again. Without rerolls the "Echoes" just couldnt pull off their strategies. The ultimate injustice was to follow... Laviak clearing a way to score before resorting to some indiscriminate blocking, using his reroll on a doubleskull. Before Bone Krasha passed his bonehead and killed Judon's fellow season debutant, the more highly skilled and regarded Boru. It was only then that Loony Tossa opted to run in for the TD making both GFI's and humbling the "Echoes" crowd. Their hearts no longer in it.. the "Echoes" attempted a consolation TD.. getting a bit caught out positionally, and not even making a completion before Damn Sneaky Ork had the ball fall into his lap, before a final failed GFI by us saw the game end. A tough day at the office to say the least, I wouldnt have minded had the 3 casualties not cost me two established players. Ah well atleast it sets up the mammoth last round matchup we all wanted to see between We Fink Wer Orks and Horrors Heroes.
Goodluck to you both.

Twahnlows:
3 Votes to #5 Bone Krasha - Shrugged of a case of the "Der Where am I's" to dominate the match scoring a TD and Killing poor Boru.

2 Votes to #9 Sneaky Ork - Another death dealing Zon/Ork and always terrorising the poor elves with blocks and fumble pickups galore.

1 Vote to #8 Loony Tossa - The final pain merchant, who sent Bekar into early retirement, and picked up a TD and Completion to boot. All class.

SWL Season XIII - Channel BB Conference League - Round 6

What a slaugher. Bob Borc indicated to us that today's Fringe tournament was Monday Massacre (http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=group&op=view&at=0&group=2533&show=11386), 'cause he wanted elf stew for dinner. Since the elves didn't put the effort in, he had to call on his orcish ladies to go hunting for him. They knew if they were going to hit someone, they better do it properly, or there was no way they'd be able to drag the elves back to Bob's kitchen, so they stick with stripping the elves of their armour, and killing them! Nasty nasty orcs.

The first half saw some poor luck for the elves, we managed to break through to the ball carrier, and kept the ball from ever leaving their half of the field. Feeling discouraged already, it was easy to put them on the back foot with a Blitz, which we pressed up the field, bringing the score up to 2-0 at half time.

In the second half, the elves returned the favour, heading straight through to Big Chukka. Caught by surprise, there was little the orcs could do about an elven touchdown. The final drive, we tried to play it safe, caging up the field, and although the ball was dropped once or twice, we were able to maintain control (with a little luck), and Loony Tossa went through for the final touchdown (she was *very* lucky not to fail the GFIs going down to the end zone).

3 pts - #12 Karesh Var
Well, although I tried to remove this fellow from the pitch, he wasn't going to have any of it. With AG5 and leap, he was able to be in the most annoying places anytime he wanted, and also had little trouble picking up the ball, and sending it in the right direction.

2 pts - #1 Talaban
Everyone knows how nasty wardancers are, and this chap is no exception. He made several daring moves during the course of the game, one which saw him signing autographs in the crowd for a moment, and the other which saw the ball taken right out of Bone Krasha's hands on a 1d blitz. He sure is going to be a menace when he takes up skills like strip ball and/or tackle!

1 pts - #6 Anwar
Although he didn't do it alone, the efforts put in by this young elf in going for the ball were just what the Echoes needed to pull in that touchdown in the second half.
