The Amazons were challenged by the Isaenmaa and accepted the match. The handicap was Iron Man which was put on an Orc Thrower with Tackle.

The Amazons started in offence and scored a quick two turn TD needing only a couple of 3+s with rerolls to set it up (3+ hand off, 3+ throw with Pass skill, and 2+ catch.

Things got hairy for the Amazons when they had to use their apothecary on turn 2 of the match. The Orcs got the ball, but the Amazons were able to set up a one dice blitz on the ball carrier and knocked the ball free.

The Amazons recovered the ball, but with no RR left did not attempt a GFI to move away from a one dice block (was a Blodge Catcher so needed a 2+ GFI and a 3+ Dodge with Dodge RR).

The Orcs played well and set up a 2 dice block on the Catcher without needing to use their blitz move and one of the two dice came up a Pow and the ball came free.

The Amazons blocked with their Ogre early hoping to get a push (as that would free up a player). 8 in 9 chance of success but I roll one of the four combinations out of 36 that result in a turnover - double Skull/Pows. My play at the ball is ended early.

My opponent gets the ball and sends it forward in a cage. I apply the pressure and force the score (he needed 2 GFI) and I have two turns left to reply.

I send a couple of players deep and then fail a 3+ dodge with reroll to put myself under a bit of pressure. I still have a relatively easy TD play up my sleeve: throw the ball (3+ with Pass) to my catcher on wing (3+ with Catch), run forward and hand off to AG4 NOS Catcher (2+ with Catch), then a 2+ dodge, another 2+ Dodge (with Dodge RR) and a GFI and I have a team RR up my sleeve too.

No problems! Cept I drop the 3+ catch and it is turn over heh.

Second half, I start with a Blitz! I go in strong to where the ball is and my 15 spp Catcher gets the ball and scores. Pity she ages and niggles afterwards heh. Certainly very lucky for me there, but then I think I was rather unlucky to fail my turn 8 score attempt so early in the piece.

Anyways, my opponent has 7 turns to reply. I get a Perfect Defence so I can avoid some of his heavy hitting to start the drive at least and that slows him down half a turn or so as he has to reposition.

I apply the pressure again and almost set up a one dice blitz on his ball carrier. My Catcher had two dice on his Guard player needing a pow on one of the two dice and I had a clear run at him with an AG4 Lino. I got pushes so it was going to be two dice against and I promptly roll a skull blitzing elsewhere heh

I keep applying the pressure and I made one ambitious move that was a bit silly. I sent my MA8 Blitzer into 3 TZs and wasted a RR and knocked myself over. I was far better off keeping him back.

Anyways, this allows my opponent to consolidate somewhat and send teh ball forward. I keep hounding the ball carrier and force a score (he needed two 2+ dodges in the end.

Two turns left for me to win the game... I get 4 players deep and then I roll a double skulls on a block on his Troll with a Blitzer. With just the one RR left, I decide to take the double skulls so I can save it for my TD play. I needed to pow the Troll with my two dice to free up my Ogre (and maybe one other player) who could also run deep to screen my potential scorers.

My opponent surrounds my four players and knocks one over, but there is one chance left. I set up a two dice blitz with my Dauntless Catcher. He hits a Black Orc in front of him and gets a push. I save the RR. I have a 4+ dodge and 3+ dodge (with Dodge RR) that I make and a GFI to get to the end zone.

Up to my Thrower now. She runs to the LOS and throws the ball down the length of the pitch (Strong Arm and Accurate so a 4+ pass with RR) to steal the victory.
--------------
Well it was fun and challenging game. We both had a lot of good and bad luck. Certainly I got the lucky blitz, but I was also very unlucky in the first half to roll the double Skull/Pows with my Ogre when I had a chance to get to the ball on the ground (though in 2 TZs) and later still very unlucky not to score that TD on turn 8 needing only the 3+ catch (with Catch RR) and 2+s after that.

Anyways, after the game, my Catcher who got to 16 spp aged and got a niggle and my Thrower got to 51 and aged a -MA so she is back to MA6 heh.

Malthor clearly played better, he forced orcs twice to make a TD 2 truns before end of the half. Both times he got KO's to help, but still quite impressive, or maybe my gage just sucks :)

On the first time he almost got the ball too after getting a one die pow on Cygnaeus.

With a few lucky rolls on top of that, he was able to take victory, one TD from a blitz and another from a turn 16 longbomb with ag3 passer and catcher.
