Talk about a nail-biter!

The first problem was that the two zombie pinch-hitters went missing at the start of the game... in his hurry to get to the game, Evil Coach and Necromancer Z forgot to bring them! They were pounding away in their coffins, waiting to be released at gametime.

Furthermore, EC&NZ thought the game was lost when the prize Werewolf, Nagash's Tail, tripped and seriously injured himself at the goal-line. Luckily, the new ghoul was there to cover him. Many praises to the Vanguard of Nagash.

The humans came back to try and score, but the Servants stopped the drive, and if not for a lucky hit on The Messenger of Nagash who was about to score in the final turn of the first half, the score would have been 2-0 for the Servants.

The second half started very tense, with the Servants of Nagash trying to keep the humans back. To their dismay, the zombie who needed to push a human lineman out of the way floundered, leaving the open ball to be grabbed by the nearby Devin for the tying score.

With 4 turns to score, EC&NZ cast a spell of Violence[TM] on the Servants, infusing them with gusto and hatred for the living. 2 casualties from the Servants and the human thrower tripping and BHing himself later, the path was cleared for a smooth TD. A last ditch attempt by the humans failed as the blocker broke on the Bodyguard of Nagash, rolling 4 skulls on his block. Bodyguard walked in on Turn 15, pulling it to a 2-1 game for the Servants.

The last turn saw some shoving and biting, but nothing else really occured.

A good game, and this puts the Servants in a good position for the rest of the Season, with a Tie and a Win. Next up are the Dark Elves of CircularLogic, but they have to go through the Dwarves that the Servants faced in the previous round.

Remember, the Servants are here for the Crown, and will settle at nothing less!

Z

ps. The luck is from the reload we had on Turn 15 after the final score.

The Gypsies' first tourney appearance!

Well, actually, their second, but they had an easy win in round one when the Chaos team didn't show. Still, the Gypsies floundered and fell apart at some key moments. Coach Ryce admitted to some bad calls and the team admitted to some poor efforts.

The first half showed some promise, peppered with mistakes. Grimble, is his first game excitement, threw a lousy block, ruining the Gypsies' momentum early. The Gypsies did a decent job stopping the Servants' drive, but Vanguard managed to sneak in a pick up the ball after their werewolf hurt himself going for the TD (something Cougar would repeat midway though the second half).

The first half ended with one of the Gypsies throwing a block which would result in his own KO! The second half started with more promise. Devin McDamage manged to pick up a loose ball and run it in to tie the game.

Still the Gypsies, simply couldn't hold off the Necros. Suffering injuries and KO's they made a desperate attempt to stop the Servant's final drive. Alas, four skulls later, the blitz failed and the necros would march in for the win.

Coupled with a lousy 10K win (10K short of a needed fourth blitzer), the Gypsies left frustrated and battered. Still, no serious injuries and a full roster for the next game. This Tourney isn't over yet. :)

Thanks for the game Alcing!
