Had to have a win in this one to keep up with Wilwarin and have any shot at finishing in 2nd place in the overall standings. Virus and It Wasn't Me left the Cleavers with 9 to start the match.
Forgot about the rain, didn't protect the pickup as well as I should have, and allowed the Cleavers to jump on the ball and score 1st. Very sloppy on my part.
Followed that up with a drive and score leaving Mully with 2 turns to play in the 1st half. Got the ball into the hands of this catcher in scoring range but I was far back enough to roll my guys into a two-deep stack and mark most of the advanced Cleavers - early reroll use made a scoring play even more difficult and the half ended tied 1-1.
2nd half begins with the Cleavers moving a trio of players upfield and my Mummy (w/tackle) using a reroll trying to knock the catcher down but failing to do so. A pass to that same catcher was intercepted by that very same Mummy as he stood in 2 tzs. Blitzed himself free, handed off to a ghoul, and worked the ball back the other way for the turn 7 score. No real shot at a OTS for the Cleavers and the game ended 2-1.
Really didn't think I has a shot in this one before the match began, but the handis were as good as they could have been. Now I actually may face Wilwarin in the next match if they advance out of the 2nd round - hopefully I will do a better job of controlling my own destiny than I did with the Race King tiebreaker.
