“By Odin's Nose! The Icy Black Hand of Death met their equal(ly bad team) on the field of glory and the day would belong to IBHoD!
The Underdark All Stars (a name that confused the norse, since their record was as bad as their own) came in swinging with a knuckledusting lineman... DRIZZT! The norse knew their skimpy furs would provide little protection. All the better, for Valhalla would come all the sooner!
The new minotaur roared and roared... and roared... and roared some more. Still, his capacity as an overpaid cheerleader drove the norse to fight! Knocking out two dark ones before one could say ragnarock, the norse returned the punt. Prez would pass to Sleet, blocked by Prince Kolbein putting an opposing lineman back on the like for the rest of the game. Sleet took it in for the TD!
The UAS responded by hurting Halldor on the return drive. Prez retailated by KO-ing a elf of his own! Remembering their mercy mistake last game, Kolbein pushed a lineman to Prez who pushed him into the crowd! Prez got his hands on the ball and sent it sailing through the heavens to Vice who charged it in for a second TD before the half ended. 2-0 IBHoD! Left behind in the dust was the second victim of Drizzt, young lineman Bjorn Agin.
The dark elves made a desperate push to tie things up in the second half. Using skill and speed the elves managed to bring the game to a one point game. The Norse responded with a bold attempt to put the game in the pouch, but the sun got in Prez's eyes and he missed a pass! The dark elves had one last desperate chance to tie it up! Looks like the forgot about Prince Kolbein! He blitzed across the field pushing it for a mighty knock-out of the ball carrier. He then picked up the ball and took the 3rd td and a much deserved MVP!
Though the fans weren't impressed with the 3-1 win, and the purse was small, the Icy ones learned a lot from this game, with several of them gaining advancement in the players guild. Most importantly, this takes their record to 1/1/3, and out of last place! The ladies are next. Perhaps a shower is in order... of ale!
