“This was a showdown of two teams with 1-1 records. The winner would be well positioned to make the playoffs.
The Wild only started 10 players and on the opening kick-off, the Astrals cut it down to 9 by BH'ing a beastman. Then the carnage began, the Wild killed a human, but the apoth saved him. Then apparently the Wild paid the ref to look the other way (handicap) and fouled Lance Bergman - killing him!!! Later the Wild added a third kill of a Jason Layne, a skilled catcher.
The Astrals might have been litterally dying, but they did some killing of their own - up on the score board! Using their passing game to run up a 2 TD lead at half time and make it 3 to zip early in the second half. I was impressed by Walks in the Sun's use of catchers, and need to do more like that when I coach humans :-)
The Wild barely managed to avoid a shutout by making a dodge, ball pickup and GFI to score a TD (all without RRs remaining).
The Wild and coach Ug look forward to the next exciting NWL game against the Astrals and coach Walks in the Sun.
Wormy watch: added 4 blocks to total 22 for the season and still zero caz inflicted!!! Many of this blocks are of the three die variety... and still no luck...
Wormy also missed most of the second half when a Hugh's Town native showed off their BB arms by chucking a 90 mile an hour fast rock to knock out Wormy for two complete drives.”
