The Ducks are back in the NWL this season. And in this, their 1st game of the season they showed us that they haven't changed a bit! Go Ducks!
Go they did... down in flames that is. The Icy Black Hand Of Death showed some true grit as the pummeled the Ducks who lost 2-0.
The only Delbstadt player who looked like he wanted to be there was the blitzer Dietz Maurer. If anything happened for the Ducks Dietz was right there. He smashed down the IBHoD's monster blitzer Geirmund Glacier on the first blitz of the game and caused another SI on Sven Forge the blitzer.
As for the rest of the Ducks team... well they need to get the rust out of their machinery.
All in all a fun game.

After an incredible last dance in season 5, the Norse started off mean, lean and ready to er.... machine... or something.
Losing the niggled Prince and Ivan, the norse squeezed under the generous 160 team cap. Still, with only 11 of them in their tiny loincloths, they'd have to be aggressive and surrender no quarter! Things started off well, but one of the Ducks would take some illegal drugs before the game and decimated the norsemen! First he crippled the mighty Glacier (thank Odin for his clerics!) , then managed to harass the rest of the norse for the entire game, later giving Forge a concussion which will take him out for the next game.
Other than that, the Icy Black Hand handled itself well, and Prez has a banner game with four completions and MVP. The rookie Odinson (almost cut at pre-season), came in strong with two touchdowns. He's been lifting all of the off-season and it shows!
The Ducks handled themselves well, and with a few more players on the field would've definitely gotten on the board. It was good to match up against Mr. Foulscumm after some disparaging comments he made against the norse durning their beatdown from Wasted Chaos last season! Let that be a lesson! :D Very fun game, and welcome back Ducks!”
