“Handicap was Smelling Salts. Gate was very low for 36 combined FF.

Started off well for Dems Beef with a perfect defence and both teams had absolute horrid block dice for the first several turns. A very lucky fireball took out the 3 elves guarding the DE ball carrier and I blitzed him for the turnover... but my poor positioning (lino and blitzer should have been swapped position wise) for the blitz and failed GFI (stupid of me in retrospect, I couldn't have got away from the S4 DE tackler anyway) with the ball led to a short lived turn over and the Jesters picked up the ball and advanced down the field... I had a chance to stop them but something like 8 or 10 straight block dice without an arrow or POW put an end to that pretty quick. 1-0 DE at the end of the 1st.

After much dilly dallying and more of the same horrid block dice the Jesters eventually out numbered Dems Beef at the end of the 2nd half... even though an awful DE wizard fireball only hit 2 out of 6 orcs I had trouble trying to get through the tight elf defence and the game looked to be over, but a miracle long bomb by Mor Dakka needing a 6 and an unlikely receiver in my BoB Sharrit No Likey sent the game into overtime to much cheering!

But in the end it was not too be, with the majority of CAS for me happening in OT, coach Fejd was forced to score earlier then he wanted too, which gave me 2 turns to tie it and hope for the coin toss.

But I made another critical error: I should have flooded the DE half of the field with potential receivers and left the ball in the capable hands of my thrower but I gave the ball to future legend The Green Ham to try and run it in down the sideline, thinking M7 and AG5 should be enough... but great defensive positioning by the elves meant I failed a 4+ dodge with dodge reroll and the game was up.

Fejd deserved the win with his great defensive coaching ability and I was lucky to get it into OT to begin with. I need to work on making better offensive positioning but I am pleased with my first run in a major tournament.

It should also be known that the ref sent off all of our dirty players. 3 for 3 on 6's.
