A fun and close match. The Guardians started in defence and got a Blitz, which burnt a reroll but did not achieve much as Atei were able to score easily.

The Guardians scored quickly in reply after Atei over committed on defence on one side but not before the Guardians chewed up more rerolls and used up their apothecary on a double skulls RIP (second double skulls of the turn).

The Guardians got another Blitz! which again chewed up a reroll and did not much. However, Atei did eventually turn the ball over and the Guardians were able to take a 2-1 lead into the first half.

The Guardians started in offence, and after forcing their way down one side, snaked a GFI before securing the ball! Atei got the ball and the Guardians got a 2 dice blitz (rerolled for 4 dice) but could not get the required Pow and Atei leveled the scores.

After that, both teams scored 1 apiece and the Guardians were unable to set up a chain push attempt against 3 sidesteppers with one of their leapers KOd.

Man did I roll so many double skulls and double 1s in that game, cost me my apoth and thus a dead lino late in the game and also the possible 3-1 lead which would have made it very hard for Gary to draw.

On the other hand, my Wardancer never failed his BoneHead rolls so that was a bit of luck that I had.

Post game, 4 aging rolls. 51 Niggle, 31 -AV, and 2x 31 made, not the best of prep games!”
