“After a disappointing League competition, frustrated after having lost on CAS difference alone due to an unlikely 2TD Khemri victory in their last game… yet again the harsh disappointment of victory ripped from their grasp was felt.
In pouring rain the Rats lined up against Real, with one of their tacklers feeling the niggle of injury. The plan was of course to force the rats to score as early as possible… this however was difficult to do as Real players quickly stormed the KO box with the eagerness of tenpole trying to find a coaching job in the OBBA!
Their sole Tackler, with huge claws, refused to eat dirt despite several attempts to skin his carcass. Eventually Real evened the numbers after getting the Mummies in the mix and their two trusty DPs.
The Rats scored with ease with a third of the first half remaining. What Real had hoped would be a strong enough front to return the score seemed unlikely when only a lone rookie Wight returned from the KO box, leaving Wight, Team Captain, Star Ghoul and only dependable Zombie in the box.
Undermanned, Real spread out as best they could, fearing the blitz and the game being out of their reach… but a rock toppled a zombie and left a huge gap. The Undead moved to the flank where some numbers had massed, then the pickup… FAIL! The gutters launched in and scooped up the ball.
It took a sprinting mummy and the butter fingered Ghoul to take it from them. The Skaven still had a chance to make it two, but it was by no means an easy chance, and ultimately they failed much too Real’s relief.
The second half, and all but Star Ghoul, Karla Larburu, returned, but a team of eleven graced the field. The drive went according to plan, save for Mikel González being KO’d courtesy of the clawed Rat who had laughed as Mummy team mate, Alvaro Novo Ramirez, fell on his sprinting charge to take the rat down previously! Nonetheless, the Undead ground them down. Despite being mindful of Houston’s one turner in the making, and two Mighty Blocks putting to the ground, followed by a gang foul… Real could not remove him in any form from the pitch – but equalised in the dying seconds.
Houston lined up against Real. One hope in mind, a quick snap for the speedy rat… this hope was far surpassed as not only did they get a quick snap, but the kick went out of bounds too! It was over… the Gutter ran the length of the field merely as a formality as the Real fans, few of whom they were, serenaded the team with boos!

Not been this frustrated with a game for AGES! The KOs at the beginning, their utterly failed return thereafter and of course the Pièce de résistance… the Kick offs!
The combined efforts of Relentless Rain + Well Aimed Rock + Quick Snap + plus a failed Kick (a 6 + 3/d8) totally screwed me!
-FF and 30K later and we took very little from the game… the Skaven CAS came too late to help us really.
Grats to Azure, who for once was out grumbled by myself! :P
Lets hope he goes all the way now… especially since he got off with complete BHs.

From the opening kickoff for all of the first half, Houston dominated the game...with the rain pouring down, Blinky Ironhide picked up the ball (AG 5) and waited several turns for an opening, then dashed on a sweep left to race in untouched into the endzone for the 1-0 lead. There was plenty of time left in the first half and the crowd was on our side, tossing a rock to stun a zombie on the next kickoff...with the rain pouring down, the ghoul failed to get a grib on the ball, and in a flash, Blinky Ironhide and 2 of his fellow gutter runners pounced on the ball - with Blinky grabbing it. Real Sociedead then had a great turn, with no RR, making several blocks to free up a mummy who had to gfi to prevent some assists from the gutter runners, then a 2d block dropped Ironhide and the ball was free...the ghoul dodged away and marked the ball. We tried to respond, but the 2d block from the claw-tackle failed to drop the ghoul and Blinky still a little woozy failed the dodge to grab the ball so the half ended with only a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the tide turned...a mummy was KOed by our claw player, but then a 6 person gang foul only stunned the other mummy and our player was ejected (eye on opponent). Enraged, the mummy would then inflict 2 CAS in the waning moments of the second half. 4 players in the CAS boxes for Houston and only 7 on the field for the T16 kickoff with the score tied 1-1...demoralized at the loss of players, Houston seemed lost on the field - however, Blinky Ironhide called them over and inspired them to have faith still...and it was Houston that got off to a quick start (quick snap) and the ball bounced out of bounds (touchback)...Blinky was awarded the ball and raced downfield...failed first gfi...but used RR and then made them both to score the winning TD. An upset of a team that tied for the top spot in the premier lead has touched off a massive celebration!
Thanks for the game to Real Sociedead, they played hard and both sides got stretches of bad dice/bad luck...thanks for the game!”
