“Dear Vanyar,

I write to you today from the patient’s ward of the Apothecaries’ office.
Our glorious victory over an embarrassed Orc team came at a high cost today. The Orcs were not out to KO our players, angered that they could not even take the ball into our half save but to throw it there inaccurately, but instead send them into the next round with broken bones…

The Orcs seemed very keen to be surfed, and we were happy to oblige, but of our four attempts, only two would actually work, these however proved fatal for one blitzer and crippled their thrower.

The injuries we sustained however were a mortal blow to a rookie who joined only recently and a smashed hand to our thrower… we advised the Apothecary in both cases to remain in the dugout as these were sustained early and we feared worse was to come.

My own injury came after I blocked a blitzer into the crowd and had him removed from this plane of existence. Though I found myself precariously positioned it was a calculated risk, as all my team mates had to do was pick up the ball and score… despite two attempts they failed to do so - much to the glee of the Orcs. The crowd was more merciful with me, but only slightly so.

I fear my days in this campaign are over, and so I shall retire, current Top Blocker of the whole of Middle Earth, to become a coach and teach my fellow team mates how to block and pick up balls… definitely how to pick up balls. They will need much more training if they are to progress any further in their quest for The One Ring now.

The injuries to the Lino and Throw were sustainable for me so I opted not to use the Apoth and save him, his services were not needed again. :(

Although I knew the risk of Tarius surfing the blitzer I figured, despite rain, I could have taken the ball anyway. In Hindsight, I should have gone for a 1d blitz of the Orc near the ball and left the guy I used to assist for 2d there to protect Tarius… I didn’t and this will ultimately cost me. :(
Three successful surfs in the game and we had 2*SI and a Death… the crowd wanted blood!

Kyyberi had some crummy luck at times with Snakes, and my elves just ran circles around his guys. I guess hailing from Moria means Tackle is not a valued skill.
