I have no time for dwarf coaches. Much less for those who grumble and then get haughty in the same breath.

Unlike dwarf teams, other teams have to occasionally pull their neck in and survive. When you've only got six elves on the park and nine on your roster, it is not the time to decide to throw all in and contest the game. We could have done a few laps around the park dodging dwarves in the second half, but it would seem a bit redundant.

And then when the dwarves get petulant that you're not standing up to give them free blocks, it really gets under your beard. Would they prefer to waste half a game moving (and not blocking) around the park?

Sorry I bailed for a few mins. Walking away for a bit was better than the alternative.

The first half was going well for the elves. They pushed my players to one side of the field and then made a swift move down the other side. However they attempted to delay the touchdown and thus gave me an opportunity to blitz the ball carrier. I was able to secure the ball (thanks in part to some poor block rolling by my opponent) and score late in the first half.

The second half started well but after the first turn I was witness to some of the most unsporting behaviour I'd seen in a Blood Bowl match in a long time. My opponent refused to stand any of his players after they were knocked down. He made no attempt to go for the ball or play whatsoever. Electing to simply end his turn without making a move. It's not for me to allow an opponent to avoid penalty for such behaviour so once all his players were down I began fouling them. My opponent then left the game for a period of 20 minutes.

After his return i ran the ball over the line and secured a 2-0 victory.

In response to my oponent's comments.

I reacted with a "sigh" when one of my players was injured on the second block of the game. I also made some casual conversation about how my previous games had gone in the SWL and mentioned that I'd had a death and a failed apoth roll in the previous match. I also mentioned to my oponent that he should have probably taken the opportunity to score and not attempted to stall. I fail to see how any of this constitutes either grumbly or haughty behaviour.

If a coach has suffered through the game and wishes to concede, that's fine but concession comes at a price (your winnings, Fan Factor and MVP). You cannot expect to gain the advantages of completing a game without taking the risks of playing. I was well within my rights to foul you if you refused to stand your players. You denied me a contested game, You denied me an opportunity for SPP and you denied me an enjoyable evening.

In answer to your question, yes I'd rather "waste" half the game contesting the ball and playing the game. It's a damn site more interesting than marching across an empty field and then waiting for someone to return after they'd had a twenty minute sook.

I'll admit some teams have a harder time keeping themselves together. Injuries can be frustrating and players are expensive to replace. The fact is that you only received a single injury during this game (a badly hurt) and you still had your apothecary at the end of the match. Your behaviour was unsporting and unacceptable.
