Well the first game of the new season brings an all Undead clash... and my my, what a clash it was...
Damatze received first and made good use of his drive up the field... the very 1st turn left me two zombies down with one KO'd and the other fouled off the field BH.... but we countered by sending his mummy Khamul crying to the KO box, and stunning a ghoul.
However by turn 3/2 damatze's ag4 blodging surehands ghoul (a real pain all game!) made a nice throw deep into my half leaving his ghoul Lasal looking fairly safe. But we fought back! Managing to get a 2db on the carrier my Wight Quicksand downed the offending Ghoul and picked up the loose ball in the corner, only to be put down right in the corner, and the ball to go back out of my reach, and well within damatze's. Before I knew it he was within the reach of the end zone and picking off what players I had left... I was soon a mummy down to a non regen BH and had 3 players in the KO box. This was getting messy! By turn 7/7 5 KO, 2 BH and a regen'd injury.... but Damatze had 4 KO'd and 1 BH. 1-0 Damatze.
The second half didn't get any easier. I received, and made hard work of getting up the field... but we were both a mummy and a guard player down.
Depsite removing a mummy and 1 other player, by turn 3/2 it fell apart... a rerolled fumbled pass left the ball exposed after it was misthrown... and damatze quickly got the ball thrown clear of the bulk of my team.
But all was not lost!... with some desperate recovery play we got our rotten flesh back on the ball and by turn 5/4 it was deep in our half... but in our hands!!
By turn 6/6 3 of his 4 ghouls were BH'd and it was 10 vs 8 with numbers in my favour, but his Wight Nazgul was still a danger... but we got clear depite being 1db splatted! 1-1
It seemed nuffle had had enough as both teams were without rerolls and turn 8/7 saw damatze double skull on his 1st block... game over... no permanent injuries, but some very sore bones. Great game, back and forth all the time... Looks like I've found my Two Towers partner if his team survives! :D
