“The Lightnings received first, and attacked down the Karond Kar Overseers (KKO) flank, forming a pocket around the Gutter Runner with the ball. The pocket really wasn't strong enough, as KKO quickly demonstrated, as a crazed Witch Elf took down Peaches and freed the ball. KKO took possession, and worked their way up the pitch over the rest of the half to make the score 1-0. That drive left three of the Lightnings too injured to continue, and given that they started the match with only 10 fit players, the situation did not look good.
The second half started with the Lightnings kicking, and they got a lucky break - Finard Relis Marin, KKO's thrower, fluffed his pickup and that allowed the Lightnings to steal the ball and score. The Lightnings now kicked again, and KKO retrieved the ball successfully this time. However, the ball carrier was not perfectly protected, and when attacked he attempted a quick pass to a teammate and fumbled the throw, leaving the ball on the ground. Unfortunately, the Lightnings were unable to exploit this lapse, and KKO quickly retrieved the ball and took their time running it down to the endzone for a 2-1 win.”
