Man of the Match: ‘Crash’ Jeanson

The Heroes Lion Warrior Kane was left red-faced after his simple sprint into the endzone ended in disaster and allowed the Dauphins to put a very closely fought game beyond reach.

On their first drive the Heroes comprehensively turned the clueless Monamie defense inside out. A clever misdirection play initiated by Phoenix Warrior Clark left the Dauphin backfield wide open for the speedy Kane to exploit with a scintillating touch-down run.

The Dauphins resulting offensive drive looked to be in serious trouble as the High Elves created a great deal of pressure in the Monamie pocket. The usually ice cool Mereneau was flustered into trying a risky long pass to Quiiqe deep in the Heroes territory. Though the pass was not caught Quiiqe was blameless and the much criticised Dauphin Blitzer coolly recovered the ball and ran over for the equaliser.

The Heroes committed a crucial error on their next drive, as a missed block by The English Man caused a disastrous turnover. The impressive Dauphin Blitzer Jacques ‘Crash’ Jeanson fully exploited the situation ripping through the backfield, recovering the ball and running it in for the score.

The game fully turned in the second half. When an under-par Mercury Maurice dropped an easy catch in Heroes territory the High Elves Looked to mercilessly punish this mistake. The ball ended in the hands of the speedy Kane who made another dash for the endzone, as he sprinted for the score he tried an exuberant slide for the goalline, but inexplicably he got it completely wrong, the resulting slide having all the grace of a Troll ballet dancer in heavy shoes. Not only did he lose the ball but so heavy was his fall that he stunned himself in the process.

The Dauphins recovered the ball and the man of the moment ‘Crash’ Jeanson was there to exploit the wide-open spaces in the Heroes Backfield to score the sealing touchdown.
