- Long Sword Thrust vs New Orleans voodoo -
http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&op=report&id=2165350

1st half: swords receive
The swords are as always quick to react and move into more favourable positions thus catching the oval ball, set up a nice blockade for the passer to seek cover behind and are all but too pleased as the turn ends.
However, this arrogance is soon crushed shamelesly as the Voodooists' easily break through the blockade with their fearful beast and marks the swords' passer with it.

commentary from Adir Bermintham - one of the blockade linemen:
"The beastly Barren Samidai came suddenly plunging through my mates with a grimmace on his face, (I believe it was) that told of unearthly vengance and passion to befilth us elven kinds. I was lucky I didnt have to stand in its way, bless my brothers for doing so, for I lay still on the turf, recovering from that wound our healer had just laid his hands on.
From my position I shouted... - quick, quick brothers, get around the beast and form a chain block postion! - so they did. A blitz and a push later our marked passer was able to dodge free - not from the tentacles - but from a somewhat surprised beastman."

The passer then seeks back field to get some distance to the marauding beasts and opportunity to plan a target for his pass.

Moments later Barren Samidai is knocked over by Iarfhlaith Davorntor and this cunning is readily followed up by a comrade who sets in a majestic foul kick which would have hurt any normal player badly. Barren Samidai, however, regenerates.

The voodooists then regroup very wisely and hurry back to put pressure on the swords' catcher who meanwhile had run down left side of the pitch. This forces the swords to score with two turns left.

Kick off - blitz!!

Oh yay! - thought the elfs - but once again their arrogance doomed them...
Their passer pressured himself and tried to mark a free beastman - he failed.

The rotters reacted quickly to this and blocked away a few linemen - a gap was made. Now the beastmen just had to rush a few players forth to be in receiving position, pick up the ball and run it to safety. So they did, but they were even more daring - the actually succeeded in bringin it to a free beastman in scoring position.

Ha! thought the nimble footed Iarfhlaith Davorntor "They knowst not my fullest potential, for I can move with a river's speed!" (The arrogant team captain sent Darrenor McKennanir to assist him with the blitz) "He is going so down" he thought almost Zen like (slowness in velocity), in his mind he had already pictured the splattered and humiliated beastman.

Bough! he stood it off oh wretced beast!!!

Resourceful as one must be to be team captain he gave it a try to move past him in order for the beastman to both dodge and go for it... but ARGH! fale!!!! (Iarfhlaith Davorntor is now punishing himself flaggelantly in a secret chamber of the team's stadium)

Now the beastman just had to dodge free. He doesn't! Thus ends 1st half.

2nd half: New Orleans Voodoo FC receive

Bad kick

Barren Samidai is given the ball. The swords' coach wonders if this means that the voodooists are content with either 1-1 or just accepting defeat.

Nothing much really happens the fist 3-4 turns. and at the same time the "ball carrier" is advancing very slowly. meanwhile the elfs start to foul the remaining beastmean (with succes) leaving the voodooists with marked rotters and two beastmen. The ball is thus easily recovered as Barren Samidai has to try to block his way free and fails...

The rest is easy for elfs to handle and they stall/skill pratice the reminder of the half. However, one brave beastman, Joey Buttons, breaks through the protecting lineman. This upsets Dair Dyleth so much that he kills the beastman with a fierce blitz. Dair Dyleth also score the 2nd TD.

Blitz!! again this time the elves are plain lucky... with a long bomb they humiliate the broken voodooists...

Weeeeeeeee/aaaaaaaw
