“Nothing short of quite a spectacular game. It was a straight up fight between the two least smack-worthy teams in the group, both of which had some how made it through the first round.

With an excellent mix of a total lack of regen and some great play from Ronnie, I was on the back foot for the whole of the first half. This was only saved by an unlucky double skulls putting paid to a turn 8 TD.

The second half went a lot better for me, with me able to squeeze through a TD two thirds of the way through. With only two turns left I thought I'd clinched the game, but my opponent very neatly put in stylish two turner despite being fresh out of RR's.

OT was a real challenge for both of us, seesawing both ways with me dramatically short of players and relying on sheer luck to keep me in the game (that and The Count). A few turns from the end I managed to put in a second TD, then had to defend against a strong drive with all 5-or-so remaining players. Once my str6 mummy was put out I was convinced the game was over, but the lack of RR's on Ronnies side began to tell and an unfortunate snaked dodge was enough to put me ahead at the final whistle.
