“Fellowship of Mordor III - Round 1
Aaaaahhhh. The season got off to a good start. Already one of the softest teams in the Fellowship, we're happy to avoid any lasting damage at the rotting hands of those Swamp Things :p This draw sets the Wild Men up nicely for an assault on those squishy gobs next round.
Kicking first half, an with a loaded LoS, it looked like buffet time for the Swampies, but a pitch invasion of unheralded proportions cleared the centre of the pitch and let me attack the ball from the off. Forcing them wide, some good positioning and lucky blocking meant the ball spilled favourably for the Wild Men, who wasted no time in capitalising... Well, ok, they wasted a LOT of time, but just as it seemed they had waited too long, Harald nipped in for the score to make it 1-0 at the break. Consolation for the Minions was they had time to inflict a few BH which would help them in the second half.
Receiving in the second half, Wild Men knew they would win if they could keep possession, or score a 2nd TD. Plan A worked for 2-3 turns but the thin North line quickly got a bit ragged and Plan B was pulled screaming to the fore. A little jostling on the sideline and a break for the line, almost succeeded but they were swamped by the Minions and inevitably lost the ball just yards from victory.
Eventually Twilight Mist scooped up the loose ball and flew the length of the field to equalise in T15, leaving only a freak kickoff result to give any chance of the win to either side.
To say I'm happy to open with a draw against possibly the bashiest team in the league is an understatement... and I'm certainly glad not to be facing these angry undeads in the next game! :)

Aghhhhhhh. The season hasn't got off to a good start. Already on -3 points due to being "ringed", and this draw has got me to -2 ;p
First half I received and my team was proned by a pitch invasion. We still got the ball but could do nothing with it. Krytie pulled out 1 dice blocks and blitzes out of the hat later in the half and the ball carrier was proned and the ball spilt to an awaiting norse. Soon 0-1 down, and looking decidedly miserable the undead got nasty getting several BHs in reply. It was all I could do to stop a 2nd and the norse pressed again, but the half remained 0-1 and the luck metre was looking very poor.
2nd half the norse received keeping it deep and looking to explore any holes they could make in the defence. However the undead remained upright this time and fought back... but only managed to recover the ball in time, dangerously close to their end zone. Eventually Twilight Mist grabbed the spilt ball and dashed the length of the pitch and scored in turn 7, leaving all hopes of a win on a clock reversal or a Blitz which never came. In the end we were grateful of the draw... but I wouldnt want to be facing an angry undead coach next game! :)
