“All hail Fibula the uber skeleton!

After a promising start - the highlight being the crowd pulling the arms off of a dwarf who ended up in the Khemri section of the stadium - Mummification were looking strong until about mid-way through the second half. The Gods were obviously displeased about the lack of undead fouling and set about enabling the dwarves to wipe out the team. Unable to stop the touchdown - with only 3 players left on the field by the end of the drive - La Dwarfs equalized and went into stoppage time.

With the ref clearly on the side of the dwarves (no help required from the fans) two skeletons were sent off at the first attempt whilst the dwarves were allowed to foul with impunity. I had no choice but not to foul, and hopefully will have been forgiven by the time the second match of the tournament begins.

The tide had truly turned, and the rejuvenated dwarves gained 2 rerolls while the Khemri players who were knocked out failed to make it back for the kick off of overtime. Two mummies down and outnumbered, it was looking unlikely that the offense could prevent the defense turning the ball over and running in the winner. Fibula, having caught a throw, attempted to throw to a teammate but misthrew it into space. The loss never looked more inevitable. However, Pakrovejas got a little carried away beating up the rest of my team and never really recovered the ball to safety. Just when it looked like he had it, the ref finally stepped in and sent off the fouler, and made just enough room to knock down La Dwarfs fast runner. The ball rebounded to a longbeard who made a break for it. With no rerolls, it looked over again for Mummification.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going and Fibula rose to the challenge. He slipped his marker, and *POW* down goes the ball carrier. He scooped up the ball, and tried to protect it. More dwarves arrived at the scene, took him down, and tried to crowd him out from the runner who grabbed the ball and got just out of reach. Fibula jumped up, slipped through into two tackle zones, and *POW* *POW* down goes the ball carrier and the draw was secure.

Mummification, deservedly, win the victory toss =) and advance to the semis of FUMBBL SMACK Pro CCL.
