Dear Vanyar,

It had been weeks since we had departed from the Shire after vanquishing the Hobbiton Heros. Our Journey to Fangorn Forest, where we were to meet those of our ilk, was long, and the days longer. But tedium does not sit well with our warriors and we trained day and night, honing our skills and sharpening our blades as news had reached us from Mordor that their forces were savage this campaign and cannibalism was order of the day… we needed to prepare for their barbarity.

The peculiarly named Herbal Tea faced us on the field of battle, our forces seemed evenly matched but the winds preferred us, as the official was from our homeland and offered us favour in exchange for a bloody encounter.

Traki begun the bloodshed, delivering a mortal blow to one of their number, their foul specialist. Herbal wasted no time in expanding their healing magic upon his corpse to deliver him from damnation, whilst Elvor delivered a boot to keep him dazed, and another was knocked out. Herbal looked visibly shaken, and put together a feeble defence in light of the carnage, Michael Flatley, ironically enough falling Flatley upon his face (Feel free to use that in an anecdote when regaling this tale to Vanyar).

Moments later, Tracki had dispatched another to the causality area and so too had Elvor… it seemed a contest between the two of them at times.

Their large Ent soon opened their own account but retaliation was swift and brutal as Lothga impaled Michael Flately, killing him instantly. In no time at all Herbal had been reduced to a mere four in number, and their deranged General was now cheering for us to spill more blood… in some sort of perverse way of sparring him.

Their General had obviously lost it, as had Herbal Tea. Refusing to butcher Herbal, who was destined to be our opponent’s opponents in the coming weeks, we waited until the end of the half before making our score.

From then on all Herbal Tea could muster from a reluctant knockout box was a mere two men drive after drive after drive, clearly the Herbal men weren’t as fascinated with navigating the mortal coil as their General would have had them be. Three more scores were made before the day ended.

Today was a good day to be an elf… an elf from Vanyar!

Regards,
Tarius

Well, t’was a “casrape” indeed… and pretty much over in the first few turns for Grit and his brittle elves. Only two cas came from the fouls, the rest were from blocks which is astonishing to say the least.

Obviously little fun for Grit, not sure how a pitch clearance speeds things up though, he could have ended turn without moving the few players he was soon left with, but anywho…
I’m sure I’ll receive my dues from Grit if not in this league then in the others we seem to play in so often.
May your nuffling cease mate.
