“Well, after a couple of games where the dice were on my side, it was bound to happen that they'd go the other way, and this was the game.
My offensive performance was marred by a flurry of failures which once again calls into question my faith in likely actions. But even more distressing was my inability to penetrate elven armor, and the associated and much more unfortunate tendency of my own protective gear to fail.
His block/dodge combination was generally effective in avoiding knockdowns, to the extent that we had about the same number. Thus, with the same sample size, my higher values, and mighty blow, I would have expected better. As it was I suffered more armor failures, more casulties, and many more knockouts. Very disappointing.
Neophyte for his part did all his actions in just the right order, and made the most out of my complete inability to roll 2+'s, as well as my occasional mistake. He was almost certainly entitled to a fourth TD, but the dice cut out on him at the very end.
A frustrating match, especially with the niggler, but at least it wasn't to anyone important.”
