Weltmann had a few double skulls, and failed an incredibly easy pass at the end of the first half which would have given him an almost guaranteed score. Other than that, though, his dice were very good. He hit at even several times and dodged as well (though admittedly at 2+) all with no re-rolls, and rarely had to pay for it. His blocks were incredibly effective, resulting in knockdowns a vast percentage of the time, and he was lucky with injury rolls too, inflicting three. At the end he voiced the opinion that he'd had bad rolls, but all things taken together, his rolls were pretty average, other than his block rolls, which were very much above average.
What really hurt were my dice. Pre-game my niggle fails to show. My apothocary fails, so as a result my block, tackle, guard thrall has niggled and was retired. I niggle another thrall with OFAB, meaning I have to replace him. Despite throwing only 4 less blocks than him, I never managed a KO. On my last drive, my desperate attempt to break free (rendered desperate because his awesome block results left me with few players) failed because I couldn't manage 2+ dodges. My first failed, so I re-roll, then my second failed. Admittedly, if I'd managed to dodge away I likely would not have scored, but he may not have either.
I leave this game down two thralls, one of which had three skills (one doubles), which means even if I'd won, I'd still come out behind.”
