Luck was in the end (but that secured my victory as my opponent writes) evenly divided in this game, even though i tried the rare experience of rolling tripple 1(only 2nd time in all my 400+ games. Both times with this team). OFAB (1) rr (1) dodge (1). So it came to be.

A fun match indeed, an i would be more than happy to play a rematch sometime.

Good game comment btw :o)

If I had to be brutally honest I was pretty unhappy about the opponent I'd been matched against, I think the Leechers are one of the highest rated vampire teams in terms of TR/TS for this tournament, 45TR/27TS higher than my own. They are a very well rounded team whereas my own is still in the process of developing. That being said it still turned out to be an outrageously fun game (for me, at least :p) due to my exceptionally lucky dice throughout most of the game.

The Leecher's opening drive sets the tone for most of the game. After crowd surfing a thrall (KO) the Goffiks exact their revenge by fouling Count Valdemar off the pitch (SI, MNG, failed regen). The Leecher's ball carrier Lensherre Hald is overconfident and a lucky negative 2 dice blitz from VonVol-au-vent steals the ball and gets the Goffiks a touchdown on turn 4.

Once again the dice are cruel to the Leechers as the ball is taken from them almost instantly, however the Goffiks cannot maintain the pressure. With an agility of 5, Lensherre Hald was easily able to pop the ball free and pass it back to a waiting thrall who equalized on turn 8.

The Goffik's drive starts out equally badly, with an unexpected fumble from an ag4 player leaving most of the team out of position and the ball extremely vulnerable. Nuffle is a cruel master and toys with both teams, the ball seems to be ripe for the taking but suddenly a failed GFI leaves the Leecher's prize thrall at the mercy of a dirty player, who promptly fouls him off the pitch (BH). Another very lucky blitz from the Goffiks frees up the ball, however the Goffik vampires are still strung out and out of position and both teams begin struggling for ball possession once again. The dice continue to go against the Leechers, their ag5 vampire seemingly losing his cool and fumbling the ball only to be killed moments later by Obsidian Blackbird McNight. Thankfully he was able to regenerate his wounds and watched the rest of the game unfold from the safety of the dugout.

Unfortunately nothing lasts forever, just when the Goffiks needed Nuffle the most, just as it looked like they could beat the odds and come out victorious, Nuffle deserted them. Venom Darkside, one of the more agile Goffik thralls failed his dodge with a reroll, leaving the ball unmarked and the Leechers with a clear pass to a waiting vampire. At this point only a string of 1's could keep the Goffiks in the game but alas it was not to be. Realising they could not win, the Goffiks decided they would try and damage their opponent as much as possible to prevent their success in future games however their efforts were in vain.

This was possibly one of the most entertaining matches I have played with my vampires. I was expecting to be utterly destroyed due to the TR/TS difference but my outrageous luck kept me in the game longer than I thought possible and for a few turns I dared to hope that I might win. Of course, I am very annoyed that at the most crucial moment in the game I rolled snake-eyes and it'll probably take me a long time to see past that one dice roll as the cause of my defeat. Considering some of the flukey plays I managed to pull off I suppose it was only a matter of time before something like that happened.
