FUMBBL SMACK Sched VET XX - round 1 vs GeneralMarauder's orcs.

We kick and they roll up a blitz, which puts a lot of orcs next to skeletons but otherwise doesn't breach our line. We grab the ball with our only blitz-ra and move forwards, using the mummies to try and find some casualties. They never throw a block on the ballcarrier but they are doing well on our skeletons, badly hurting two over the first 5 turns (no regens), and crowdpushing another for a stun. We've KO'd two orcs and things are starting to get risky so we score on turn 6.

We've now just 11 players for the rest of the match- could get nasty! They start things off with a gang foul KILL on a 0-spp thro-ra who was put on the LOS, and then push forward trying for a 3-turn touchdown. But our mummies are nicely spread out and we're able to mark their possible receivers and prevent it in time.

With a KO'd player each we set up 9 vs 11 orcs for the 2nd half. And they quickly increase their advantage with a foul badly hurting (regen) our blitz-ra on the LOS. With so many extra players there's little we can do but punch what we can as we watch our cas and KO boxes fill with skeletons. By turn 3 we have just our mummies and 2 skeletons on the pitch. We defend suprisingly well for so few players, managing to take down the ball carrier at one point, and they only pick up the ball again on turn 7, though our desperate dodging blitz (by a skeleton) can only turn up a skull on their thrower and he scores on turn 8.

It looks like extra time and we won't have many players so we try and remove some orcs in our final turn, without managing anything (story of our cas dice this whole game!).

**** OVERTIME ****
Despite two wake up attempts only 1/3 of our KOs has woken up so we have just 7 players vs 11 orcs for overtime- and we're kicking! Nasty. We have 2 RRs vs none for the orcs... until the kickoff table rewards them with one!

They immediately KO a skeleton leaving us with our trusty defense team of 4 mummies + 2 others. But once again the mummies (particularly the 2 sidesteppers) are proving a massive thorn in the orcs side and we're able to get 5 dice against their ball carrier over 2 turns, failing to knock him over but keeping him in trouble. The orcs have spent their reroll so are afraid to dodge him away. They eventually chain push him free- but with great mummy positioning he has no clear way through and decides to run backwards to the LOS. We are able to blitz to get a mummy standing by him, and with sidestep even their blitz to remove him just pushes him into an even better position! But he makes the dodge to keep moving and when on our next turn our final mummy GFI to stand by him fails (both teams now without RRs) it looks like the orcs have a good chance! Their thrower runs right down by the sideline in what looks like an almost unreachable spot. But a superb turn sees us do a double GFI blitz to knock one blitzer over, a double GFI with our blitz-ra to stand beside their thrower, a single GFI by a mummy to mark a blitzer, and then a dodge by a skelly to mark the only other orc nearby!

It's the orcs final turn, their thrower is trapped by the sidelines, every other orc is marked and they have no rerolls (or dodge skill)... tense! But their blitzer makes the dodges, knocks over our blitz-ra (BH!) and the orcs run in the winning touchdown!

Great game GeneralMarauder! Thought I might have you to a coin toss a couple of times there, amazingly, given how few players we had on the pitch for practically the whole 2nd + 3rd halves!
