First game of the new season and the first for Kungpow outside of the brutal premiership for some time.

With 3 favourites for promotion this season- Seraphimreds 'Guns n Bullets' Dantitans 'Kings of Twilight and Kung Pow themselves, this was likely to be a crucial game.

Wwith only 11 fit players Kungpow knew they would not be able to be as brutal as usual and went into the game happy if they got a draw.

Things started well with the coinflip going in Kungpows favour and them electing to receive to try and wittle down the number of elves.

A deep kick and a chase and attempt at a screen by the High elves made things tricky despite the rookie Bull getting the ball in hand.
Kungpow managed to break through the screen and cage, but it wasnt the best of cages.

Some assists and a 1db later from the High elves and they opened up a -2db blitz on the bull with strip ball. POW POW and the bull went down, but only to be caught by the STR4 Chaos dwarf \o/
That was a crucial roll in the game as things could of gone very differently on the scoreline with a better scatter for the elves.

From there on in it was a fairly comfortable Grind up the pitch for Kung Pow with many elves leaving for the KO box. Towards the end of ths drive the HE strip baller made himself thje only annoyance and he promptly got ripped by a block, but the apo saved him with the Kungpow DP electing not to foul him as he was too scared of the ref.
Kungpow shuffled in their score in turn 8.

The HE setup for some push 1 turn action and very nearly made the opportunity but came up one square short. It was a good try though.

2nd half and ALL HE ko's had returned which are not the fair odds that Kung Pow like!

The high elves setup to rush down one flank while keeping the ball deep with the thrower.
Kungpow set about making things as awkward as possible to make sure the HE had to roll some dice to score, before using their blitz action to bring down the stripballer again who had been left in a "over here hit me im strawberry flavoured" position.
Down he promptly went and in came the DP brutally niggling him!

The HE then went for the score but dice promptly failed Dantitan and the ball went loose to be surrounded by CD tacklezones but the CD failed to pickup the ball in the pouring rain.

Up until this point the ingame chat had been fun and there was some banter, but i think the dice ... which were not great 2nd half to be fair to Dan started getting to him.

The HE still presented a scoring threat though, pushin a CD onto the ball and nearly getting the right scatter.

With more tacklzones and a screen around the ball, Kungpow chose not to try picking up again in the rain as it was safer where it was. They surfed the HE catcher who was in the end zone the turn before turning their attention to the only other HE who was in a position to threaten with a 4+ 3+ dodge and dice against block to try and knock a player on to the ball and hope for good scatter.
Well that was the move that would of been in my mind if i was in the HE shoes, it obviously wasnt in Dans as he took great offence to my DP foul niggling that player and removing any further threat of a HE score.
I think this was on top of the other poor dice he was getting but dont think im someones favourite coach right now!

With the HE now pretty much given up and running away, Kungpow still took no chances and screened up the pitch before after much rerolls getting the ball into the bulls hands and running in the score in T16.

Nuffle certainly approved of the Kungpow performance today even if the opposition didnt.

double on the Bull who skilled due to getting the MVP!

Kungpow now look set for a good season as they now have a full squad and replaced their niggler.
Time will tell if we will be getting that promotion spot at the end of the season but the omens look good.

gl for the rest of the season Dan, especially against Sera!
I still think you have a realistic shot at promotion, but whether you would be happy playing in the very foul happy Prem im not sure.
