First half started on the defense, though thanks to some lucky breaks the boys turned it around and Regin ran in the TD off the Darkies' drive. The teams were very evenly matched, with neither really gaining the upper hand. The Darkies' 2nd drive proved more successful, thanks to a truly spectacular performance by Bill, dodging and weaving first his way to pick up the ball, then out again in to a passing position, topped off with a spot-on Long Bomb to Yocko, who'd snuck into the Stoppers' end zone. Can't help but admire such skill.

The second half started with the Stoppers on the attack. It was clear the Darkies wouldn't give an inch without a fight. It was a hard-fought touchdown, carried in by Nyrath Orchammer, with the elves harrying the carriers relentlessly. And their comeback was, if possible, even more impressive a show of just how skilled the Darkies are, scoring the equaliser in just minutes. And they made it look so easy! There was just enough time to score after the Darkies drew even, but they boys'd have to be quick about it. They very very nearly made it, but the elf Radok came as out of nowhere just in time to knock the ball past the waiting hands of Regin, who was about to make a run for it past the one elf remaining in his way.

Despite being denied the win, the boys can be well pleased with their performance this night. Everyone gave 100%, and it really showed down on the pitch. Good job, lads!”
