“This game was the first of two back-to-back that I played against chooxter (the second was our McBonehead Open game). And this one was a real bloodbath from the word "GO!"

It started with James 'the Marauder' Madison and Swirly having their niggling injuries flare up. Chooxter used an apothecary, I did not have one. Now we're both without apothecaries for the rest of the game. I won the toss and opted to receive the kickoff. My first block of the game resulted in Penfold being SI'd (niggling) by 'Big' John Hancock. The second block, a blitz by 'Terrible' Thomas Jefferson, resulted in a Seriously Injuring Nibbler. After these setup hits, 'Jumping' John Jay retrieved the ball, handed to 'Mangler' Monroe who moved and passed to Alexander 'The Great' who moved into a small cage. The skaven countered by surrounding the small cage, pushing and knocking down the Norse so they could put a few rats on the ballcarrier. I countered by moving in some reinforcements, then 'Furious' George blitzed and BH Splinter. Alexander handed off to 'Terrible' Tom and he moved into scoring position. Again the Skaven maneuvered, pushing the ballcarrier back but failing a block that KO'd Rizzo. More maneuvering and pushing with the Norse resulted in another KO and another BH, and Tom was within striking distance of scoring next turn. Mr. Sonic took advantage of a misplayed Frenzy attempt by 'Furious' George that resulted in him being on the sideline, but fortunately George was only stunned by the crowd push. Then disaster nearly struck when Peyton 'the Punisher' Randolph threw a 2-die block on Basil that resulted in double skulls even after the reroll. The Skaven surrounded Tom, who was already up against the sideline. However, with some timely assists, Tom was able to blitz his way out with a Frenzy that moved him away from one of the defenders, knocked the other one over, and cleared the way for the first score.

The next kickoff the Undercity Slickers got a bit of revenge by sending Thomas 'Paroxysm' Paine to the SI box with a Smashed Ankle (-MA), followed by sending Alexander 'the Great' to the SI box with a Broken Neck (-AG). However, the handoff between Sneaky and Swirly was botched and the ball ended up lying on the ground within reach of the Fathers. Swirly was KO'd and Patrick 'the Rage' Henry ended up with the ball. The Skaven tried to knock the ball out of Patrick's hands but only managed to KO Peyton 'the Punisher'. The Fathers answered by Badly Hurting Sneaky and Patrcik finally lumbered into the end zone 2 turns after picking up the ball.

The 2nd half started with a weather change to Blizzard. A lot of slipping in the snow by both sides ensued, but the numbers advantage the Fathers had gained over the Slickers was too great to overcome. The rats made a valiant effort, but they could not stop the Fathers from scoring 2 more times. Anthracite even BH himself throwing a block but it was in vain. There was one amusing moment when John 'Angry' Adams stunned himself while throwing a 2-die blitz against Swirly. The other Fathers laughed at him, which just made him angrier, but Swirly slipped on the ice as he was making a break for the endzone and the Fathers recovered the ball for the final score. Duke the skaven BH himself dodging away from 'Furious' George in the process. The game ended with 'Furious' George attempting a quick pass to 'Jumping' John, but he misthrew the ball.

A fun game for both teams, though the Skaven are going to be in bad shape. Rumors were flying that the Undercity Slickers might even be retired. The Frenzied Founding Fathers meanwhile advance to the 2nd round of the 4/09 Orcland Wooden Shield.”
