“Another tournament game lost on the coin flip for me... The game was a ton of fun! An early failed go for it (after the reroll) gave my ball to the Dwarfs, but an amazing interception and runback by my lone goblin kept the game close. The stall was risky, but looking back it would have been worth the risk as it would have won me the game... had it worked :-) Nuffle also blessed me with a timely blitz to keep things tied or I was doomed for sure. We did have an amazing last gasp as down a couple players we kept the juggernaut Dwarfs out of the endzone (his endless pows ran our on his last turn...) to force the coin flip. We both played well and I think the better team advanced. Good luck to Savage in the next rounds! We'll be rooting for you!”
Ah well, I was lucky to be in that spot, and further lucky to advance in spite of not scoring. My opponent very kindly pointed out each of my mistakes throughout the match by hitting my ball carrier whenever he could. I was lucky to survive a couple on the last drive, or my opponent would have been threatening rather than me.
In fact, given the way he capitalized on the blitz and every other opportunity, I'd say he would have won outright.
One of the more fun games I've played. Dwarves vs. Orcs is becoming one of my favorite matchups.”
