In our previous encounters the matches have been exciting battles, both won by BlackOrc, but today the Gitz finally took revenge and had a near perfect game.
The key moment in the match was in T2 in the first half, when the Gitz detonated bomb in the heavily stacked GreenTime cage on the right flank. The fireball burned the ball carrying Pontos badly, knocked out the troll and sent a couple more tumbling to the ground. While the ball scattered to one of the remaining cage guards he was soon blitzed down and Runn could snap up the ball, running to safety down the left flank.
The plan worked out so well that the opponents could hardly even try to recover the ball. Their main forces were tied up in the right flank and the rest boxed in by the troll and some black orcs. The only real attempt to get to the ball ended in a 1d blitz which stunned the attacker and left Runn even more time to run to safety.
The rest of the half was really just an act of keeping the opponents boxed in and safely walk in the TD in T8.
For BlackOrc the problems continued when both the troll and the scary black orc Nyugis stayed KO'd. The GreenTime bench was deep and they could field a full squad, but it was now made up of some rookie linemen, one of them got his jaw broken on the LOS right after kick-off.
With a numerical advantage the Gitz could just hold off their offensive until the GreenTime orcs scattered their forces to get around the defensive lines, at which point the Gitz managed to isolate them and box them in again. A cage of black orcs escorted Lobb da Clever to the end zone line, where he graciously handed off the ball to Rodgoth for the TD.
BlackOrc had the same situation as I did in our last match. It wasn't so much his dice that was atrocious, but rather that I always got the margins and hardly had any dice rolls fail.
