“145 KO Cup LII (TR115) - round 1

This game was very bloody. For whatever reason, the Hair Legends were fired up and took it out on the poor Spears of Victory. I had very good dice this game, which allowed me to carry out my game plan and take a few risks. The Legends kicked off in the first half, but managed to get the ball away from the Spears and run it all the way to the goal line. Instead of scoring, though, I opted to stall and inflict some punishment since I had a man advantage. It payed off. Second half I received the kick and failed the first pickup. Fortunately a nice catcher from the spears came over and fell on the ball (failed GFI), bouncing it to my thrower, Elfrick Ashtree. Elfrick moved into a cage and passed to Greenleaf Bon Jovi. Eventually, the manpower (elfpower?) advantage allowed me to break free and move the cage even further downfield. Elvish Pressleaf scored a timely CAS and was poised for a skill. So I moved him downfield and had Greenleaf pass to him. Then I stalled again until the last possible moment. At this point the Spears refused to stand up (and who could blame them), which angered REO Hair Supply for some reason. Rumor has it he just wanted to get tossed so he wouldn't have to stand on the LOS for the final kickoff and it worked. After 3 fouls on the Spears Dragon Warrior, he was finally tossed. All 3 fouls resulted in stuns so no real harm was done.

Xanderfinn, thanks for a fun game and for keeping your sense of humor. I've been on your side of the table many times, so I know how it feels. I'm glad the RIPs were not to skilled players. Good luck to you, whether you rebuild or start over. The dice were just not on your side today, not much you can do when that happens.
